Faizan Hasnany wrote a solid article on how Buzz Williams and men's basketball program leverages advanced metrics and analytics. (If Buzz were a football coach, he would not value time of possession.)

Pretty slick. This is like what Florida State has done with football by using the GPS vests in practice and developing their own analytics based off of the data. Don't Fuente and Corn use VR for the QBs to rep plays at any time they want?
They did, technology, the people who can not only use it but use it to advance the play calling will be the winners long term.
I don't know where to put this, but Wabissa Bede (a highly rated 4 star PG) is starting to trend our direction in the last couple of days. http://247sports.com/Player/Wabissa-Bede-85349. The future looks bright, friends.
That would give us 2 top 75 recruits for the 2017 class!
That would be a game changing pick up.

I like this a lot, especially the VR recruiting for two reasons. One, it helps to eliminate the challenge of distance between Blacksburg and the major metros. Two, I always like when we can apply what the school is known for into our other programs. As a public technical and engineering school, VT should be leading the way with advances in all aspects related to the university. The things that can apply to sports and other more visible elements only speed up the outreach of the university to the state. Use the classroom prowess to gain cross-departmental advantages. Love it!
