Just wanted to update those of you that didn't see, the men's soccer team lost yesterday in East Lansing 3-0. They had a player sent off in the first half for spitting (the ref was bad). The seniors on this team should be commended for coming into and turning around what was a dumpster fire of a program into something that is very respectable. An Elite Eight followed by a second round showing was unthinkable 5 years ago. I had the privilege of sitting with the parents yesterday, great to see our players come from such a good background. Congrats on the season boys!

Thanks for the update! Saw they won the first round and was wondering when the second round game would be.
Edit: Have you follow the team much this year, are they on the upswing or was this tourney appearance the last hurrah for a good group?
I haven't followed them a ton, but we lose our top attacking threat and starting keeper. From what I've seen there is still a lot of talent, all the parents told me that we're doing a great job of recruiting. With us being in the mid-Atlantic there's really no reason to not have a good soccer program.
Olympic sports are really on the upswing. Wish they got more press and exposure.
Great win against Air Force, I caught that game on ESPN 3. It's tough and the season as a whole was very tough but congratulations on making the tournament and getting to the next round.
The ACC still has I think 4 teams in contention in the tourney, and that's with at least us and UVA being eliminated in the 2nd round. Our guys did well to get an at-large playing in this conference.
Which is sad because 5 years before that we were in the Final Four.
well....
Yea, that Final Four (and the recruiting violations that came out of it) were a big reason we got into such a mess.
Were there any NCAA sanctions or just J. Weaver barring international recruiting for XX number of years?
