Ron Cherry is still giving someone the business

The article below has some details about what really happened last year.

I still think he was the best in the ACC, even if he wasn't the most eloquent. Always entertaining.

Wow, I'd never heard that story. I just remember him always having a lot of flair, and people sometimes not agreeing with his calls.

This is right up there with the Marcus Vick stomp as one of the dumbest things a VT player has done on the field. It still hurts to watch.

The Orange and Maroon you see, that's fighting on to victory.

The Dadi Nicolas incident was dumb, but was relatively harmless and is sort of funny in hindsight.

It was clearly unacceptable and deserving of a flag, but I don't think there was bad intent. It was more just frustration.

Nicolas (and VT) was very lucky that he only got suspended for one half a game over it.

Agreed. Still kind of funny to watch Cherry look to the side, silently realize what just happened, and then nonchalantly reach for the flag in his back pocket.

Yeah, he does not lose his cool.

I feel like Ron personally didn't want to throw the flag, but knew that he had to, professionally.

Thanks for posting this. I had been wondering what happened to Ron since that play happened last year. I'm glad he seems to be doing well.

Glad to see Ron is okay after something like that but....

this must explain the personal foul on Reggie Floyd.

Fire Whit.

I still maintain that it would be fun to watch Don Cherry and Ron Cherry swap places for a day. Give Don a whistle and put Ron in one of those suits.
