Fortunately I have a work conference in Miami so parlaying this into my first Hokies game since Ohio St in Blacksburg. Looking for fellow Hokies to hangout/tailgate with. If you are going to be at the game or have some suggestion on good spots let me know. Thanks!

I'll be in Miami for the game as well. Looking for Hokie friendly tailgates
I thought you said you were going to Maimi
/s
lol.....noted and corrected
ill be there too! I don't have a parking pass or anything (usually just wing it trying to get as close to the stadium as possible ill shell out the few extra bucks but id love to get together with some fellow hokies as well. we can all get together. I haven't had the best experiences tailgating for maimi games as their fans aren't the nicest.
I went to the game in Miami in 2000 (or whatever year was MV1's last year), when MV1 was hobbled with a bad ankle. It was in the old Orange Bowl, and that was a miserable experience. Not only did we get beat, but I remember the restrooms being in the bowels of the stadium and being ridiculed by U fans, and coming very close to being urinated on. What a bunch of trash those fans were.
All that to say β hope you have a better visiting fan experience.
I drove down for that game too. I rarely saw fans that looked like students. Most were middle aged, drunk, sunburnt, Florida white trash. This definitely included the skanky drunk woman who would run to the front of our section and flash everyone whenever Miami scored.
There was one roving band of students with a blow-up doll dressed in a Vick jersey and a bloody, bandaged ankle. They would make a beeline toward any group of Hokie fans, throw the doll on the ground and start kicking the crap out of it. Tasteless but amusing.
The game sucked without Vick. The only (personal) highlights happened before the game. 1. My group was filmed and used as part of the pregame intro footage. 2. We saw some Miami fan toss a full fountain drink over the gameday back drop and nail Chris Fowler. The camera stayed off him until the next break and he was turned around cursing a blue streak at the fan for the next couple minutes.
I drove down there in 2004 when we beat them for the ACC championship (before the championship game was a thing). Had beer cans thrown at us. Someone stole our signs ("Hurricanes Blow" "All your Orange Bowls are belong to us"). A couple guys tried to start a fight with us. After the win, we were a little afraid to be in a crowded concourse with a bunch of pissed Dolphins fans so we waited it out in the stands til the stadium was empty. Huck the Furricanes.
Central Florida Hokies are hosting a tailgate. Miami fans are saying the lots won't open till 4pm.
I didn't know that empty seats could talk.
On the internet there are lots of them. They just don't show up to games.
Anyone have a contact for this group?

do you know someone who can approve me into the group? trying to get the tailgate info but ive been pending acceptance into the group.
Bienvenido a Miami
Suggestion:
Why not drive down? Stop in beautiful Atlanta along the way.....then....Find Paul Johnson and punch him in the fucking face. Then stomp on his knee so hard that he walks with a limp for the rest of his earthly days.
#savetheknees
Decision time:
You can get rid of 1 thing forever. Will it be Paul Johnson or White Uniforms?
No question, CPJ.
Well, technically my beef is with White Jerseys at home games and orange jerseys of any ilk... But...
I would gladly sacrifice my own wants to save the knees of the world. Chinballs needs to go. No question.
That's pure altruism there!!
We are going! Gonna do the Keys Thurs-Fri and then the game Saturday. We were there four years ago and were surprised by the tailgate (rave) scene at the stadium. How do we Hokies meet up?
Nice! I'm getting a parking pass so we could set something up or try to meet up with the Central Florida folks.
I'm reaching out to Central Hokies group for details thanks Fireman!

Paging that guy who wanted to drive down from Orlando. This will get you there and back same day.
Assume you were talking about me. I just saw this and requested to join the group on facebook. I will def take the bus, but would anyone familiar with Hard Rock have an opinion on an 11 year old in the Party Deck? For reference, he's been attending sporting events and sitting/standing in supporters sections at Soccer Matches since he was 7 years old.
The bus is a life saver, will get my order in tonight as soon as i confirm what i'm going to do about game tix.
And for the person asking about the Hokie section, (maybe in another thread), it's 122 per ticket office, but I haven't been able to find any tickets in that section on the secondary market yet.
I'm coming down with a group of 5-6 (recent) alumni. Would love to meet up with anyone throwing a tailgate. We're just planning on Ubering to the lot, don't have a car.
So is it the consensus that most people here are going to attend the Central Florida Hokies tailgate? If that's the plan, I'll see you all there with a couple cases and maybe some bourbon too! ;)
I'll be in Miami from Friday on, will be looking for fellow Hokies to hang out with as well.
I would take a moment to recommend "Catch of the Day" at 1050 N Lejeune in Miami if you want good local seafood. It's not Barbecue or Pals but... worth the time.
If you're looking for some place quiet to watch the game on Saturday, try Miami Gardens.
Yeah I have to get away from the rowdiness that is my living room.
Flying in Thursday morning , meeting up Hokies from Denver for the game. Listen for the "Lets go Hokies" chants during the 4th when all the Miami fans have left.
So my son and I will be on the bus from Orlando to Miami...anyone else? Tailgate?
I'll be at the tailgate with 4 of my buddies. We'll be happy to toss the football with your son for a bit if your son needs to be distracted while you get your drink on! hahaha Go Hokies! looking forward to meeting some of you down there.
I'm going as well. What source(s) do you recommend for tickets?
For cheapest, face value tickets check out Miamis online ticket office (https://hurricanesports.evenue.net/cgi-bin/ncommerce3/SEGetEventInfo?tic...).
Or see if the Orlando Alumni chapter has any tickets left in there group (http://www.centralfloridahokies.com/single-post/2017/10/14/Miami-Bus-Trip).
Looks like they only got upper level seats left, so if you're looking for nicer tickets than you're probably just going to have to go with Stubhub or one of the other secondary market sellers.
Where is everyone going out Friday night?
Where is the Central Florida Hokie's tailgate going to be?
Does anyone know what section the visitors sit in? Trying to stay as close to Hokies as possible, which should be easy considering Miami likely won't have fans attending the game.
They're the ones shaded in gray
