Edit: after watching the Hudl video, he runs through arm tackles well, had enough speed to beat his competition to the edge, and is shifty and decisive with cutbacks. I don't think he'll have as much success outrunning defenders at the next level but he doesn't shie away from contact either, which I like.
The vision, build, and body control seems to be there for a guy that can get the expected outcomes Fuente wants and every now and then take advantage of a defensive mistake to rip off a big gain.
I look forward to seeing what he can do.
I agree that it won't be as easy at the next level, but just think if you add some technique. He's got some natural speed and decent instincts.
Precisely my opinion. He's not a wunderkind like DW4 (hence 3*), but has the tools and potential to be a solid contributor. He's got a full senior season to get better and prove that I'm an idiot 😆😆
He ran a laser-timed 4.51. Kid has good speed. Only need to see if it translates to the football field.
Look at his film. Certainly seems to translate.
Oh I'm with you. Hopefully we see it translate to college as well, but there's no reason to believe that it won't.
I dont see why the speed wouldn't translate. He is running away from corners and safeties that have angles. I think he'll be just fine....😁

Anxious to see how he develops in Blacksburg. Long striding kid with some speed that could stand to put on some weight (can he carry 15 more lbs?). He and Beck are very similar athletes.

Yes-- 6-1 185lbs on Rivals and ESPN. 4* on ESPN, on the cusp of 4* on 247 only rankings, and a mid 3 on Rivals which is dragging his comp rating down.
To get a feel for his speed, he ran a 4.51 laser at a Nike camp this year. Ford just ran a 4.65 laser at the opening finals camp, and Houston ran a 4.66 at a Nike camp this year. King is very fast.

That's the joke. There was a large contingent on here and elsewhere in Hokie Nation that insists trey should have played LB in college.
There's always that "What if" but the Hokies needed him at running back. His abilities were really hampered by poor injury luck because he showed plenty of potential.
I mean, he's a running back in the NFL.
