WTF is this shit on this board and why is it not labeled OT at a minimum?!?!?!

Whatever. It was one bad year.

Seasonal Brew means High ABV for football season and standard the rest of the year.

He's a major player at an ACC school who also happens to be our rival. So yes it matters.

Using /s is for cowards.

I'm surprised there isn't a "Zion declares" thread.

Is there no room for irrational wahoo hate?

Whatever. It was one bad year.

Oh well yea I still hate them. We can all always agree on that.

Using /s is for cowards.

Most of the "OT" labeled threads here matter. This should be labeled "OT" without a doubt.

Chick Patty w/ Cheese

I was mostly making a jab that anything wahoo related on a Tech board should be OT at a minimum and maybe needs its own designation, like a biohazard sticker or DB for Douchebaggery

Whatever. It was one bad year.

Seasonal Brew means High ABV for football season and standard the rest of the year.

Without a doubt it should be under the ACC board (which it is). In the most objective and logical way imaginable that is what makes the most sense.

Using /s is for cowards.

At least some good news today...sheesh!

Oh thank God. I don't watch the NBA so I will never ever see his punchable face again

I've always wondered why some people "love College basketball" but then say they don't watch the NBA. It's like saying you prefer Minor league baseball over the MLB. The NBA is all around a better product. Better scoring, better defense and its has the best basketball talent in the world. The NBA just keeps getting better. Hell, even the 7 foot centers have to be able to knock down open shots beyond the arc. Don't get me wrong I love March Madness but watching an NBA game and then trying to watch college basketball is tough. The games are slow and low scoring, not because of what every old guy says "they actually play defense in college" but rather the kids struggle to score consistently. I urge you to watch the NBA playoffs, IMO it's one of the best times of the year right now for sports fans.

Pour some Beer on it

Espn and Lebron James ruined the NBA for me. Also I enjoy College football than the NFL

You're in luck, The majority of the NBA playoffs are on TNT.

I love the NBA, but in general I prefer college sports purely because I have an actual connection to a team. I don't have any ties to any professional teams unless they have a Hokie playing for them. I've tried picking a team and just rolling with it, but it just doesn't feel the same. If my area every gets a team then maybe it will be different.

stick it in, stick it in, stick it in!

This. I was born and raised in Dallas before moving to VA in high school. Dallas has always been a Pro-team city, so this probably explains my love for NBA. I grew up hating the Spurs/Rockets

Pour some Beer on it

Umm doesn't everyone prefer the minors to MLB?

As far as game attendance experience, I'd rather go to a minor league game, at any level, than go to a pro game.

With the exception of Wrigley Field. Something about Wrigley is magical, but that might be because of my childhood spent watching the Cubs and Harry Caray on WGN.

But yeah, at minor league games you get to sit closer to the action for pennies on the dollar. Players are accessible after the game, and the promotions and mid inning entertainment are great!

Went to a Spurs vs Jazz game. Was bored out of my mind.
Atmosphere was awful and no players seemed to care. Only time the players cared was the last few minutes and OT. This was even a late-season must win game for both teams fighting for playoff positioning.
Only part I liked more than college ball was the music during play and the mid-game events but I feel like that was to distract from a boring game.
Will never go to another NBA game of my own choosing

The NBA is all around a better product.

No, no it's not.

Thank you. I heartily agree. I quit watching the NBA when Magic and Larry and Jordan moved on and things just seemed different, somehow. I watch Hokie basketball, but don't just watch "college" basketball. It's just personal preference, and as mentioned, I have a connection there, but have never lived anywhere with a pro team so maybe that is part of it.

Reel men fish on Wednesdays

My issue with the NBA is that it doesn't seem that competitive anymore. Seasons are 82 games long. Teams don't play defense for minutes at a time. Super teams dominate the NBA now.

The 82 game season makes games seem less important until about March. Teams don't play defense to conserve energy, so a 15 point lead happens, is immediately erased, and then happens again without any excitement driving it. And super teams are not like the super one and done teams that we see in college. Only 2 teams dominated by one and dones have won championships in college basketball. A super team has won the NBA Finals nearly every year since LeBron joined up with the Heat (with the Mavs and Spurs being the two exceptions).

College basketball is more fun because each bucket matters, every game matters, and we get to see teams that were built and not bought win championships.

I'm one of those guys that watches college and can't stand the NBA. Funny, my argument is the exact opposite of yours pretty much in all accounts except for the "talent" part. NBA has turned into a soft mush of overcooked grits if you ask me. Defense is non existent, you watch talented players jack up threes, and there is no aggressiveness. I'm not an old guy, at least I don't feel it, but the days of old where the knicks and pistons and bulls were in dog fights just doesn't happen today. In the NBA you have 82 games and the playoffs are mostly settled halfway into the season....no drama. College, teams are scrapping and playing hard to get a better seed or to just get a chance at the dance. The two aren't comparable in my book. Different strokes for different folks I suppose.

No dude, the NBA sucks. It's too easy to build a superteam, and it's too hard for everyone else to catch up to that superteam quickly and knock them off their perch. It gets boring watching the same team win it all every year, ESPECIALLY if it's not your team.

You could say the same thing about College basketball and Football. A few select teams get the best talent and are legit Super teams.

Pour some Beer on it

You're right but it's just different to me somehow. The NBA isn't as fun to watch for some reason. It is what it is

I think we can thank his fiancรฉ, he can republish his wedding registry now. Happy wife, happy life...

Whatever. It was one bad year.

I think he will end up back at UVA next year to be honest. Not in a fair amount of mock drafts, next year and they will not have the scoring they have had this year which could result in him being a star. But that is also a double-edged sword and he could also falter.

Another white bronco? The first one didn't go too far.

He can't after that those boosters buy him that car on his wedding registry.

That rule has recently been changed.

"For those who have passed, for those to come, reach for excellence."

Not surprising. Another year won't change his stock much and he's going out on top.

The Orange and Maroon you see, that's fighting on to victory.

Kyle Guy is a player who you hated because he was good and seemingly around for so long, but at the end of the day, he was a fun player to watch. He played hard, played with class, was an exciting player with his shooting ability, and is a good example off the floor.

Glad we won't be facing this guy anymore.

I think the man bun and punchable face had something to do with it. I would put him third on my most punchable faces list:
1. Coach Chinballs
2. London Perrantes
3. Kyle Guy (might be two if he kept the bun)

I'm a big Miami Heat fan. Watching Chris Andersen go non-linear on him in the ECF one time was incredible. Not to mention Udonis Haslem taking a flagrant two dropping two fists in his face.

Grayson Allen says hello

Where does Narduzzi and Matt Ryan fit into this punchable face list of yours?

Diakite has now declared its so beautiful to watch them all leave. Just a few days ago my UVA boss was talking bout how they were gonna dominate the league next season with everyone coming back cause UVA is different than the rest and now hes pissed cause all they have coming back is Clark and in his own words hes "shit".

I don't see Diakite actually leaving. Remember, you can declare and even sign an agent now, but still come back if you don't get drafted.

Is it basketball season yet?

This is not accurate. If you don't get drafted you can't come back. The new rule is you can sign an agent, but players have until May 29th to withdraw from the draft and terminate their agent relationship if they want to come back to school. The draft isn't until June 20th.
