I notice it doesnt say where he is going. Maybe he just entered the portal and will come back to us, right?
The last part of his post says, "See you Nov. 16". So maybe he's going to Georgia Tech?
It very much is GT. Guerry worked at UGA before and is a big fan of Atlanta.
Coaches and support staff don't enter the portal. Thomas Guerry was Director of Recruiting Operations.
I think there was an implied "/s" at the end of 5900's post.
Thank you. I reeeeally thought the sarcasm was clear without the "/s" based on the content of the comment, but, like many before me on the internet, I was wrong and here we are
I think he read it like you thought Thomas Guerry was a VT player and was just letting you know that he was staff.
Either way, I enjoyed your sarcarsm. The best sarcarsm is that which doesn't require the use of a /s!
best of luck to him if he really want to live in ATL, I lived there several years and have family there and loved it.
That being said, it sucks he has to work at such an awful school. I mean, the Varsity is a positive I guess.
ATL has long been a second home to me growing up fairly close and the majority of my extended family living in and around Atlanta so I also love it. This is sort of a tough beat for him because I think his wife is a UGA alum.
Indeed. I still do, like my father before me.
In fact, if you ask a GT alum "What's the good word?" That's what they'll respond with. I love their attitude towards Georgia.
What? Have you tried their food?
It's a positive because the entire stadium empties out into it so that people with taste can easily get food at better establishments
ATL:
That's definitely not DC...cause they aren't running into each other.
This is not accurate;
the cars in the gif are actually moving, so this can't be Atlanta
The hashtag is literally "Culture Not Found."
Delta, spot on!

The 404 culture...I hope you have a good security system.
I'm all for career growth and all....but

plus if his wife is a UGA alum....he knows that's a different school right....
Offseason claims another one...
The Guerry signal is dead. This off season has been rough.
better or worse than last year's?
update. Thomas Guerry not leaving tech. just the VAHHHHHH.
Great....so our recruiting will actually get worse now???? Uggggh
Has he not heard about the turkey bacon?
Well, it could be BECAUSE of the turkey bacon.
Turkey bacon news breaks => Guerry enters the transfer portal. It's science.
We don't lose any more recruiting directors to division foes than the average P5 school, so we will be fine.
You do have an uncanny ability to be an asshole... leg for you.
Cmon Jsumm...I'm being very sarcastic... that's different. Full disclosure, I am legit sick of that party line thrown out for everything...thus said sarcasm.
I got the sarcasm... but being sarcastic isnt a magic bullet that prevents one from being an asshole... my wife reminds me of this often.
Let it never be said that DC isn't consistent.
Losing Bud and now losing our recruiting coordinator
Yeah, I'm very concerned with what is going to happen with that 2020 recruiting class.
And 2021... there is a lot of trust that will have to be earned before those kids start to verbally commit. We could be late to the party on guys that aren't willing to play the waiting game.
Yeah, I mean... You're not wrong
I see a lot of people saying that everything is going to be just fine and that we're ok... But man this is a big loss, and when combined with the other huge loss we just had to our coaching staff. There's a massive cloud of uncertainty hanging over VT football right now. We absolutely need to play the next few months perfectly on and off the field, or things going to awry in a hurry.
It went unnoticed, but Guerry left the football program a bit ago. Was helping Whit with all sports and recruiting events outside of football.
His twitter and Hokie sports bio didn't reflect that. When did it happen?
Not terribly long, probably a few to several months, if you notice he stopped giving the recruiting signal and stopped retweeting recruits tweets as well a while back.
Yeah I noticed that too and knew something must be up on that end. Sad to see him go but fortunately for us its during the smallest class in Tech history.
Guerry leaving for GT count as a chop block, right?
So the trend I see is most saying our recruiting is going in the wrong direction. The recruiting director leaves yet that's a bad thing? Wouldn't this be an opportunity to actually overhaul things and move in the right direction?
Basically any reason to claim the sky is falling will be taken at this point, it seems.
For the record I hate losing anyone to an in-conference/division rival, but our recruiting can't be a disaster while the guy running said recruiting leaving is also a disaster.
This is cool - from Jordan Stout's mom..
