MBB vs Gardner Webb

The Hokies play Gardner Webb Sunday at 1:30 in Cassell Coliseum. This is an ACC Network Extra game. Sorry Comcast guys. The Hokies should match up pretty well with Gardner Webb:

Gardner Webb is 3-6:

Stats for the stats nerds:

I am putting this up early because I am not going to have any time tomorrow before the game.

Go Hokies!

Have to travel to watch my grandson in some kind of Christmas pageant. It will be worth it.

Doesn't matter if it's cake or pie as long as it's chocolate.

It will, and I wish I could give you more time

Glad we got an early thread. Chattanooga's didn't show up 'til after tip.

Thanks for the info. I am not excited about having to try to watch this on ACCN+. My new smart tv relies on really crappy wifi and the results are difficult to watch. I'll still do it, mind you, but look forward to the rest of the season being on ''real'' tv.
Looks like today should be easier than the Chattanooga game, at least I hope so. Hope I can see the action well enough to enjoy the game.

I don't even try to use the TV. I watch on my computer. Can't watch today. Grandsons Chrustmas Pageant is at the same time.

Yeah, and some people watch movies on their phones. Count me out. The bigger the screen, the better for sports or pretty much everything else in my book. Besides, it looks like shit on my computer, also. Enjoy the pageant, I'll be cussin' my wifi, I expect. We rural dwellers suffer from few real privations, but lack of access to broadband is one of them.

Is it Holiday break at school yet?

Classes ended last Wednesday, exams go through this Wednesday.

Excited to see the back ups get some solid meaningful minutes. Every game is a chance for these guys to grow

Ojiako is growing right now!

No kidding. Grabbing our only two offensive rebounds of the first half and drawing a few fouls.

Love that I'm still locked out of streaming ACCN even though my family pays for it. Thanks Verizon.

Outside it's night time, but inside it's LeDay

I came here to find out the final score since the ACCN on my tv locked up with a little over 5 1/2 min. remaining. I was blaming my wifi, but maybe I'm blaming the wrong culprit.

ACCN doesn't work on YouTube tv but it does on the espn app, maybe try that with Verizon ?

It's an issue with Verizon account verification that a number of people are having. I have spoken with them and they are "working on it."

ESPN wants you to traffic their site so they make other streaming services redirect to espn.com/watch. Not the issue I'm having however.

I think we're playing pretty well. In classic Hokie fashion, our easiest offense has come from good defense.

Good to see Cattoor back, Wilkins is showing up!!, and Bede+Nolley are the engine that makes things go.

My goodness, Landers can shoot the ball

We blew them out the way we did because we were making tough threes with hands in our face. The ball isn't moving the way it did at the beginning of the season, especially when it hits Nolley's hands. We need to get back to moving the ball quickly, finding the best shot, not trying to create the best shot.

With that being said, we have still won every game we're supposed to and won one we weren't. 8-3 with a win over Michigan State is not bad for this team. We just need to tighten some things up before conference play really kicks off.

I dont disagree, but I think CMY was trying to get guys like Cone, Ojiako, Wilkins and Catoor meaningful in game mintues. There were long stretches in the first and second half when Cone was running the offense and Ojiako was our big.

This is a rebuilding year through and through, so minimizing starter minutes and developing depth in games like this (and the next 2 vs VMI and UMES) will hopefully help longterm.

FWIW, I like watching all the guys you just mention play. My concerns weren't with any of them. In fact, I love Catoor and would love to see him get even more minutes. It just seems the lineup of Bede, Radford, Alleyne, Nolley, and Horne has stagnated a little bit in recent weeks. They don't pass as crisply as they used to, the ball sticks to hands more when they should make an immediate pass, and there are more turnovers. Fortunately, they are still playing good defense which will keep us in a lot of games. We can be sneaky good, though, if those guys return to their original form.

"Sneaky good" indeed. Love that description and I think it really does describe our team this year.

I'd say we were also supposed to lose the Clemson game to open the season, so we've really stolen two games. By expectations we should be 6-5.

I agree with that. Maybe BYU was a tossup that we lost. Not sure what they've done outside of their game against us.

Agreed on all counts. Our record so far is impressive but we need to move the ball better on offense. It was good seeing Nolley make contested shots over smaller guys, but that's not as likely to happen in ACC play.

Did Radford just get our first double-double?

Yep. 10 pts and 10 boards. Had a good game.
