Landers Nolley 1 of 283 Hokies to Make ACC Academic Honor Roll

Virginia Tech has 283 ACC Acadmic Honor Roll Awardees. Nolley was the center of controversy when he had to retake the ACT back in November to be cleared to play. He again was the center of controversy when linked to Martin Fox, the middle man in the Varsity Blues scandal.

Rumors and doubt began to swirl around Landers academic ability. Nolley responded by making honor roll his first semester at VT and continued his strong performance in his second semester by becoming one of 4768 ACC athletes to make the ACC Academic Honor Roll, recognizing classroom excellence.

Kudos to Landers for all the hard work on and off the court!

Honor Roll but ineligible to play

And here's the NCAA not giving a flying fudge about it because... well they are a bunch of UNC "educated" morons

The Orange and Maroon you see, that's fighting on to victory.

We beat Duke in the tourney if Nolley's playing. If Clark didn't fuck up and Nolley was eligible, 2018/19 Hokies bball could have been a legit final four team. Siiigghhh

Facts.

Agreed, I knew the absence of Nolley and Clarke, along with jRob's limitations would be critical to our advancement through the tournament. Damn shame it had to go down that way.

Also, Nolley was declared ineligible because his ACT scores were higher than expected, so hopefully his making the academic honor roll will dispel any cheating allegations and he'll be eligible. If he was on Duke or UNCheat, he would have been eligible from the get go - Coack K or Roy Williams would have demanded his eligibility, yet we didn't hear a negative peep out of our man Buzz. Never understood why he never laid into the NCAA for declaring Nolley ineligible w/o any evidence of cheating. I sure hope CMY has the balls to rip into the NCAA morons if this situation continues for Nolley or if any future, undocumented cheating allegations are brought upon our guys.

I doubt Coach K or Roy Williams would do so toward the beginning of their 30+ years of coaching for their respective teams. While Buzz is a great coach, he doesn't have the long standing clout with the entirety of a school's BOV at his back to power play the NCAA.

And he knew he was leaving for A&M. Why stick his neck out for a player/program what he was leaving?

Exactly, the best way to thumb his nose at the NCAA is to keep making academic Honor rolls

Whatever. It was one bad year.

21st century QBs Undefeated vs UVA:
MV7, MV5, LT3, Josh Jackson, Jerod Evans, Michael Brewer, Tyrod Taylor, Sean Glennon, and Grant Noel. That's right, UVA. You couldn't beat Grant Noel.

LEGIT QUESTION NOT BEING A SMART ASS.... Has he been cleared by the NCAA yet? Link if so? Thanks

I'm 99% sure someone on here with sauces said that he has been cleared but a quick Google doesn't come up with anything.

Hokies United l Ut Prosim

Pretty sure that 2 semesters on the honor roll ensure he's cleared. After a year at Tech and in high academic standing, the test scores don't apply to eligibility any more.

OK, would love to see it official somewhere though. It's VT hoops we are talking about here.

meaning that until it's official, the NCAA might string it out needlessly

I dont think there is anything to clear for year 2. He was basically ruled an academic non-qualifier which requires sitting a year. At least that is my best memory of it.

The concern of things staying the same is only exceeded by the fear of change

What can be done about this? Obviously he can't get a year of playing time back, but I feel like someone needs to pay for the injustice that happened here.

For the record, I don't foresee the NCAA actually taking responsibility, but it would be nice for once.

I hope the athletic department sent a gold embossed, framed list of the honor roll to Indy along with a bag of dicks.

If you play it, they will win.

I heard a rumor that the reportedly unused portion of Fuente's recruiting budget was reallocated for that purpose actually.

Joffrey, Cersei, Ilyn Payne, the Hound, Jeff Jagodzinski, Paul Johnson, Pat Narduzzi.

There's actually a website called "D*icks by mail" for this exact situation. Don't ask how I know that... and obviously the site is NSFW.

Yeah, but the NCAA deserves the real thing. Not gummies.

I thought about posting the link, with a NSFW disclaimer, but I wasn't trying to Google that shit at work.

There is also "D*ck at your Door" which sends rather life size chocolate versions in nice packaging without any warning signs on the outside.

Probably would arrive a little soft in this heat.

Does it come in white chocolate?

why yes it does, try not to eat the whole thing by yourself

However the white chocolate ones are smaller than the dark chocolate ones

I'd also accept an Edible Arrangement made of rotten fruit. Hokies Respect.

Too good for them.

They get nothing above rancid meat.

I wish we didn't live in a time where people forget about stuff so easily. The NCAA deemed this guy ineligible because they didn't think he was smart enough to get the score he did on his ACT. It made national news, everyone acted enraged about it for a couple of days, then everyone but us forgot about it. I wish people remembered the bullshit the NCAA does day in and day out and constantly held them accountable. It's the same thing with this Brock Hoffman situation. People see the story, tweet about it for a couple of days, then forget about it. All the NCAA ever has to do is wait 48 hours, and then they get to decide what bullshit they're going to embark on next.

This whole eposide was all about keeping VT away from Duke and UNC this past year. Total BS.
