Hey, she also plays for VT. That's pretty coincidental.
Fingers and brain weren't working together there very well.
Springfield CC was my home course growing up, although I didn't play golf back then. My Dad was Golf Chairman for a while in the mid-70's.
Its an excellent course. It is not very long, but always in great shape.
That quote should be on a tee shirt:
It is not very long, but always in great shape.
It's our course now. We really love it. Great conditions, fun atmosphere and outstanding staff. *Close commercial*
Nice! I got to play it maybe 15 years ago because of family connections to the old pro, Quinn Sullivan. The trees had grown in a lot, making the course much tighter than I had remembered. But it was in spectacular condition, particularly the greens.
I grew up across the street from West Springfield HS...
Reminds me of the Sam Snead story...
First time in TKP history where "women" and "qualified" are used in the same sentence and it actually makes sense.
Pretty sure it makes sense in both usages...
So she literally hit the first shot ever for our women's golf team? As in it's only been around 4 years?
I don't know if she hit the first shot but yes the program has only been around for that long.
Unless my ex-girlfriend tweeted it, I would assume the word "literally" was used correctly in this case.
She was a local recruit form Floyd County, we went to the same schools K-12 and know her and her family well. She was part of the first recruiting class that came to Tech "redshirted" because the team was not established and then played the first season in program history the following year. Fun Fact: she was a Single A state champion as part of the girls basketball team in Floyd County in addition to being on the golf team.
I'm loving that maroon shirt and orange belt combo with the logo on the buckle and "HOKIES" on the strap holder. Me want for my golf days.
Mission belt co.
I'm wearing the maroon one right now. I also own the orange one. I love mission belts.
Link for those interested.
Looking forward to playing BCC for the first time on Sunday afternoon. Late addition to the tournament, filling in for a great friend that passed last year. Blacksburg in May!!!! Should be a great weekend.
You have to like the program trajectory- competitive in the ACC and in the NCAA tourney after just 4 years. Let's build on that and win our fist ever team national title!!
Bass fishing rings get no respect
Working as intended.
LOLUVA won't count as a NC unless it's a sport they've won one.
Meh, there are other fish than those uppity one in C'ville...more concerned with VT's efforts and championships than what they think of us.
