I am going to put together a hype video for UVA this year, centering around Bud and the defense.
15 years is a ton of ground to cover, so if you are reading and want to help me out, toss up the embedded youtube video, and give me the minute and second mark, and the year the game took place, that would be super helpful.
I'll try to add as much as possible.
Thanks in Advance!

Gotta include the Ken Ekanem/Dadi Nicolas sack pancake.

got that slinky neck action
That was his last play in a uvanus uniform. After that he transferred to Georgia.
2011 Quarters 1 2 3 and 4
I'll go through and get some of the plays I remember after work today.
Antonio Banks '95
Definitely not during the streak buuutttt

Purnell's sack to end the game in 2008 and Bud's reaction: https://youtu.be/ttfdaN07p78?t=7633
Chris Ellis laying out Jameel Sewell in 2007: https://youtu.be/bxeGt1xXZ-Q?t=7477
Bryce Perkins fumbling the game away last year: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RQbZ1dSESnI
Interception to end Frank's last game in 2015: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F7-oM3H_WiQ
Great note on including Bud's reaction. Iconic moment after that sack.
that one where greg stroman popped matt johns while he was in-bounds and the wahoo sidelines erupted in misplaced whines
also when motu waved goodbye at andrew brown after he threw a punch and was summarily ejected for it
edit: you might get one or two people willing to put the effort into finding the exact timestamp of a youtube video, so good luck!

Chuck Clark's interception with 1:04 left in the 4th quarter to seal the win for Beamer's last game against UVA in 2015
chris ellis wrecking, then trolling, big pouty baby jameel sewell in 2007
Poor move on my part to open this at 8 am on a Wednesday. Now I've got to drink all day
Torrian Gray...
Then Jimmy Williams doing it in 2004.
As soon as he got that stop I knew something special was going to happen and lo and behold - next play the fumbled
sauce
That's my favorite as well, and turned out being a game winner. Though looking at now, it would be a big flag for a horse collar.
He also had another big play holding up against a block by an O-lineman (Elton Brown) stretching out a sweep play to prevent a touchdown, forcing UVa to settle for a field goal.
Brandon Flowers jumped route pick before the half in 2007 that allowed us to score a key TD before halftime. BFlower Pick Link
Antone Exum pick in 4th quarter to get us the game winning FG in 2012. Exum Pick Link
Will probably come back and add more to this.
The Exum pick was the first thing I thought of.
Exum game was peak TimeCop. Completely unbelievable how he figured icing Journell twice and going to overtime was preferable to keeping time on the clock for his team to try to score and win.
The forced fumble in OT last year to keep the Commonwealth Cup at home where it belongs.
That was going in no matter what!
This version? https://youtu.be/xD_PK8DyrOs
Ryan willis running down and saving a sure pick 6
Came here to (somewhat) sarcastically say this.
Also Malleck catch and road grading (what's his name?) in '15?
@quinblanding
Also kumah stiff arming him right through the Earth's crust and into the mantle
https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=sXr5XzwMKKs
1:38:35...honorable mention, not a defensive play but Kumah planting Blanding after a fourth down conversion.
1:49:30 same game, everyone's favorite Hokie T Hill with the flop drawing a personal foul.
Also add in some shots of the "fixed" logo at Lane North.
Where Logan Thomas decleated that defender after handing off to David Wilson (I think?)
Agreed but I think this is a bud foster tribute.

For me got to be the 2007 Chris Ellis horse-collar tackle of Jamell Sewell in the 4rth quarter. It was a combination of the vicious hit and Sewell saying something to Ellis as he is being escorted back to his sideline and Ellis just sarcastically clapping. It was still a rivalry back then.
Motu with the scoop and score in Fuente's first year. 2016 52-10 bro.
The blocked punt in 2014
2006 1st quarter 9:35 - Swing pass goes from an open catch to getting swarmed by 4 Hokie defenders for a loss. Classic Foster.

Dax pointing to Perkins to leave the field last year.
don't know the time but here's the link.
I remember in 2019 where every pass by Perkins was intercepted and returned for a TD.
That never happened.
He was too busy being sacked and fumbling to actually get any passes off.
Watching some of these clips, I don't remember so many of these games being that close. But damn...when they need to score at least a field goal and the defense makes an interception, or sacks the QB on 4th down...that feels good.
Trying to think of most memorable defensive play.......but my favorite play was the Logan Thomas block in 2011 to spring David Wilson for a TD.
The Dorian Porch interception in the end zone in 2008. We only had a 3 point lead and LOLUVA was already in field goal range. An absolutely monster play.
gotta love the fan at 2:00:51 of that clip. "TFW you remember that Tech owns your ass in football and always will."
Love the final defensive sequence where Bud sprints down the sideline fist pumping after he brought the blitz on 4th and 10 and gets the sack.
All of these plays are getting me so hyped. Terry Tate office linebacker is in the building.
Bud took a couple nut shots from that clipboard along the way...
Does anybody have the "Why can't we be friends?" satire video of the VT/LOLUVA rivalry?
This should be your opening to the video.
Y'all do us veterans and VTCC alumni a solid and make this go plaid. Jason, I salute your perfect juxtaposition.
Sometimes the best defense was a bad offense.
Nothing sums up the last 15 years of UVA football better than this
The 30 yard line will get after ya!
The Jimmy Williams rundown...one of my favorite players...and he's from the peninsula...
