"How'd you like to go to dinner with Bud" a friend asked unironically

A wise man once said that the sun will even shine on a dog's ass from time to time. Well the sun is out, and that dog's ass is me!

A few weeks back a friend texted me and said "We missed you at the game this weekend, should have been there, it was fun". Having traded season tickets for my third round of parenthood, I could only muster a weak response to the barbs saying "We've done some really epic nights in Blacksburg, how good could it be". Then the pictures started coming in: Great tailgate (meh), plush seats a few rows from the field (ok, I'm jealous), pictures of walking the field after the game (that's cool), pictures of sipping drinks in Bud Foster's office (wait, what), picture of sipping drinks with the legend in his office (ok, now you gotta call me).

Turns out that my friend is friends with a member of his family. I told him that if he doesn't let me ride the coat tails, we are no longer friends (kidding, not kidding).

Will get a chance to sit with the Foster's for the game this weekend, perhaps walk the field, and if everything lines up right (aka VT wins and he is in a good mood), will probably tag along for a post game meal with the family.

TL/DR: Chance to meet the man is strong.

If one of us has a chance, we all go for the ride together. So: if I get a chance to ask him questions related to his time at VT, what should it be:

1) Best offensive player he ever schemed against?
2) Favorite win?
3) Any times that he was suprised they won against long odds?
4) Team or Coach that said "I wish we could play them tomorrow, I got something for them" (thinking Harbaugh after the Orange Bowl or before we crested the mountaintop agianst FSU)
5) Favorite Player?
6) Player who had it all and threw it away?

I want to walk the line between being a quite observer and not be a gobsmacked jocksniffer.

Anyone got anything?

His decision was made after a phone call with longtime Virginia Tech assistant coach Bud Foster. All Foster told him was, "We win. They don't."
