The is only one bud, dude had a hell of a run. He did more with less than any coach in college football. He was a no excuse, in your face, get it done kind of guy. Damn, have fun replacing that
I really hope they name the DC position after him, or someone gives an endowment to make that happen. I'm grateful to have witnessed some of the genius that was Bud Foster's defense and it's going to be very hard to imagine someone else taking the reigns next year.

Damn. Great video. Even better coach. Even if we win it all one day it'll never feel the same without Bud. I really hope more than ever we hire someone from his coaching tree to carry on the LPD. I know there are limited options but it would feel a lot better to me if he hands over the reigns to a former player/coach.

I would rather the statue of Bud being in his trademarked crouch next to Beamer. Neither would have had the same level of success without their partner.
Man, it's going to be so weird not having Bud as the DC. The greatest DC of all time for me, an absolute legend.

I loved that Antone referenced the "played his nuts off!" presser. When somebody that matters gets your back like that, it stays with you forever. Every kid in the country should have been beating down the door to Blacksburg to play for that man.
If there are any players reading this, you do EVERYTHING you can Saturday to pitch a shutout. Don't do it for yourselves, or us stupid fans, you do it for Bud.

When MV7 was released from prison, Tony Dungy agreed to be his 'personal coach.' I remember seeing Dungy interviewed at the time, and saying that he was making Vick do was get a speech coach to get better at public speaking. Boy did that pay off.

Beamer and Foster made VT football into what it is. Their history is VT football history. One and the same. They're great men, and VT football is the best tribute to them.

MV7 wasn't even a defensive player but he got in the mix. I would have loved to have heard from all the Fullers and all the Edmundi, since Trey should have been a linebacker. Adibis. Hall. Taylor. Moore. Loved to see Darryl Tapp in there, I met that guy and he was an awesome dude.
It was a little sobering hearing his son fumble a bit with the 'Now he can make up for that, but he doesn't need to make up for anything' bit.
Didn't know Tapp got on the Vanderbilt staff.
We are going to need to bring Tapp home at some point.
