Big time recruiting game: Maury vs Ocean Lakes

There's a big time 757 showdown happening Friday night as the Ocean Lakes Dolphins host the Maury Commodores. The game will boast some really impressive talent that could maybe end up wearing Orange and Maroon.

The biggest recruiting name in the matchup is KeAndre Lambert, a 2020 WR that Tech lost out on to Penn State. (Gee, haven't heard that one before.)

But, there are still some high level players that the Hokies staff will have their eyes on. Here's a few players to watch out for:

Naquan Brown - DE - 6'3 200lbs. - 0.9512 (4star) - 2021

Probably going to end up being the highest ranked player in the matchup. Brown has elite speed off the edge, and can continue to bulk up to a lanky 6'3" frame. Brown has offers from all the usual suspects, so the Hokies will be in a dog fight with the big boys for Brown.

Myles Alston - WR/ATH - 6'2 175lbs. - Ocean Lakes - 0.8578 (3star) - 2021

Alston is exactly the kind of recruit the Hokies have been landing in the last few classes. Good size, speedy guy. Can play the X or Z position at wide receiver. (Looks great on a jet sweep, probably.) Alston has 236 yards receiving through 4 games, so he's been very productive. His 247 Crystal Ball currently predicts the Hokies, and Tech has been leading the pack since the inception of his recruitment.

CJ Beasley - RB - 5'9" 180lbs. - Maury - 0.8397 (3star) - 2020

A Hokies commit, and one of the more electric players in the class of 2020 out of VA. Beasley has incredible speed, but needs to add weight before he could really carry the ball in the ACC. Beasley is a really exciting player, he has potential to be what Keshawn King looks like.

Eric Gibson - QB - Maury - 6'1" 190lbs. - 2021

Gibson has thrown for 872 yards and 14TD's through 4 games for the Commodores. His recruitment hasn't really taken off yet, but he's shown good production this year. Gibson has been invited to camps at Notre Dame, Pitt, ODU, Penn, and others.

David Roulley - DB - Ocean Lakes - 6'1" 185lbs.

This could be a big one. Roulley is a junior for the Dolphins. He has 54 tackles, 3 INT's, 7 PBU's, and 2 FF's through 5 games. Roulley has a great catch radius and ball skills, which will only continue to develop. He has plenty of frame to grow into as well. Roulley will be under the shadow of fellow 757 DB Tony Grimes, one of the top DB recruits in the nation for 2021. That may allow the Hokies to scoop him early, if they feel so inclined.
