Hokie QB(s) Injury Rumors

Paging LAHokie...

Hearing some injury rumors during the bye week:

1) Willis is in a walking boot and may not be a go for Duke.

2) Hooker has an injured shoulder - wore a shoulder strap vs. Furman - and possibly injured enough to require surgery after the season is over..

3) Patterson and Knox have been getting the snaps this week.

Are we really that banged up after ODU and Furman?

DISCLAIMER: Forum topics may not have been written or edited by The Key Play staff.

Comments

I think Willis may be having a shoulder issue as well.

In Sam Rogers we trust.

Idk what other sites are saying, but I know that HH has been dealing with a shoulder for a while now. He reaggrivated it against ODU. Willis has a couple different things going on but I'd be surprised if he missed any time

Quote from LAHokie on a different thread

Also very common for young quarterbacks to get increased reps during the bye week so not surprised by Knox and QP getting more time this week. Lets the coaches get some development and evaluation time in and lets little injuries heal for starters. Unfortunately, we probably won't get a real insight into how banged up they are until we see if they get limited next week as we try to install the gameplan for Duke.

Gobble Till You Wobble

Another white bronco? The first one didn't go too far.

There is someone on the staff in charge of fitness, strength, injury prevention, etc. He needs to do a better job.

Proper training can definitely decrease risk for injury, but at the end of the day, the human body just isn't made for repeatedly running into and getting tackled by large humans. There's only so much you can do to prevent injury in a game as violent as football.

Twitter me

The past 3 years it seems we have had an inordinate amount of injuries. We are young so I guess that is part of it too.

Yeah, I mean, how dare the staff let Josh Jackson break his leg and Divine Deablo break his foot last year...

No, I *don't* want to go to the SEC. Why do you ask?

We don't love dem Hoos.

It's been more than the past 3, we had boatloads of injuries the last 4 years of Beamer. A couple of those 7 win season could have easily been 9-10 with out the in injuries.

I would love to see stats on this. I have two potential theories that could explain why it 'seems' like we have an inordinate amount of injuries:

  1. We have the same amount of injuries as most teams, but since we lack depth, we our injuries are more (negatively) impactful.
  2. Due to have less depth, our starters play more snaps, and thus have more opportunities to be injured.

Twitter me

Yessir

I'm going to roll with #1. That has been the case for as long as I can remember,

3. We follow VT Football more than any other team, so know about and count all the injuries, not just the ones the announcers bring up on tv.

Sometimes we live no particular way but our own

4. Information surrounding injuries had been becoming more widely available as time has progressed, making it seem like we have more than we used to.

They just don't make them like they used to!

Interesting how this perspective gets so many upvotes now when the same perspective got ridiculed 4 years ago.

Man someone should tell Alabama that. And the NFL because they have lost 5 QB's in the first two weeks and 1 who retired the week before the season started because of injuries.

Why? alabama has won 5 championships recently and is currently ranked second. Is there a point you are trying to make? I think their strength program is fine. Ours?

They have one of the longest injury lists in P5 football this year. You brought up injuries man nothing else.

Wet stuff on the red stuff.

Join us in the Key Players Club

Right. 4 and 5 star players practicing against each other and a coach that likes to go hard at practice. No surprise they get banged up. The point is that the 22 guys that the strength coach does get ready to play, win 98% of their games and they are always bigger and faster than their opponents.

Its takes like this that I think your are purposely being obtuse to troll us all. You claimed because of number of injuries the S&C staff at Tech has issues, fine. But then when presented with facts this happens at even programs like Bama and the business that is the NFL, you make a left turn and go somewhere else with your point.

Yes, I agree it would be a better place. However, I would hope you would know there's a difference between making that generalization and personally attacking someone's character outside of a fan forum.

"What kind of person would throw away a perfectly good dog?"

The statement you are quoting is about general confronting of liars and trolls in life. I didn't call out DC until a post later and used a single specific place he again uses half truths and lies. Those are two different posts aimed at two different targets. One is more "wouldn't life be better if we held all people to a fact check" the second was a more direct pointy example rebuttal of his claim about he doesn't use half truths or lies, pointing directly to another forum besides TKP where he does just that.

I'm with you a 100% on calling out his trolling. I downvote any time he deflects to bs when called out on his original posting.

But idk if it's lies or half truths as much as he is simply incapable of admitting when he's wrong. He just always doubles down on some random bullshit completely irrelevant to his original statement. Just full blown trolling if we didn't know any better.

In this case he went from Injuries are caused by the S&C staff to Bama is different because more talented players get hurt more often when going against more talented players. Just completely pivots and pulls some deflection outta thin air.

I also agree with others that calling out his bs from twitter on here is as equally off topic and kinda weird. But I have to say I took a peek and I really wish I hadn't.

I usually agree with you, but this is a huge reach.

I do know another member of the S&C staff (for another sport but has experience for football at another school) and their take is that our current program is not designed to help our O and D lines. It helps skill position players more. Just a take.

I honestly agree with you. At some point, it goes from a 3 years of bad injury luck and turns into a trend, and I think we are past that point

Weren't we saying the same thing the last several years of Beamer too though? I honestly don't know enough about S&C to know what's good and what's bad but I distinctly remember the complaining about this for several years prior to Hilgart. Either our prior S&C was equally bad or our injuries are unrelated to the quality of the S&C program.

dcwilson posts something, gets downvoted to oblivion and goes blurred out.... LAhokie agrees with him and gets upvoted and goes green

One was measured and reasonable. The other, not so much.

His opinion was whoever in charge of S&C needs to go based on our injury bug in the past couple years. People say that about Fuente and other coaches if they aren't up to par/our expectations

LAHokie agreed and I am sure others do as well... based on the past couple of years, its not THAT unreasonable take/opinion... at least not to downvote him IMO

Bleeding burnt orange and chicago maroon

Here's the thing: Hilgart was regarded by many as an excellent upgrade to Gentry at the time. Lots of that was because of the perceived "injury bug" (ostensibly due to Gentry being left behind in the field)

Since then, we've gotten before and after bathroom shots with "cutting" and (probably) just as many injuries. I'm also not seeing improved on-field results. Yes, I know that would be difficult to attribute. But we are what we always were, no discernable improvement noted.

Let me go ahead and make one think clear. Coach Gentry was no where close to "being left behind in the field". Fuente wanted his guy in there and thats it. Gentry is a Iron Palace legend and would still be one of the top S&C coaches in the country if he was still in the game.

Gobble Till You Wobble

Let me also be clear: I had no problem with Gentry, and didn't buy any part of him being "out of touch" or "left behind" or whatever. I'm just helping the Borg memory about some applauding his departure.

FWIW I have the exact same recollection regarding some posters blaming Gentry for injuries and speculating that his methods were obsolete. I also thought that seemed like nonsense at the time but people make up all kinds of narratives to fit their agenda, which, in my opinion, is exactly what's happening with many of the things being said about the current staff.

Joffrey, Cersei, Ilyn Payne, the Hound, Jeff Jagodzinski, Paul Johnson, Pat Narduzzi.

There is someone on the staff in charge of fitness, strength, injury prevention, etc. He needs to do a better job.

What was not so measured and reasonable about this statement?

If you're not sure if my comment warrants a "/s", it probably does.

Someone get the pitchforks, it's the support staff again.

I don't know why this site puts up with this poster. He's a sad little troll who enjoys aggravating everyone else. Makes TKP much worse and he does it on purpose. This thread is a classic example of why you boot this guy. His arguments are shifting all over the place.

Get rid of him. Let him wallow in his misery elsewhere.

I like DC and think he adds to discourse. His delivery is harsh, but mine is often too. Some people want TKP to just be an echo chamber of sunshine. We all want to win, and I agree, our S&C staff doesnt' seem to be as impressive when it comes to on-field results as the shower underwear pics.

That's the workaround, of course.
On mobile, that's not always possible without getting into the source code, which is then a pain on such a small format.

On mobile in Chrome, hold finger on the image, on the pop up menu, click open image in new tab, in the new tab, hold finger on the image and on the pop up menu, click on open image in new tab, go to the new tab and copy the url. Opening it twice seems to get rid of all the giphy coding garbage. On desktop just use the right mouse click to do the same thing.

I take this as an indictment of our QB development. Clearly the offense can work with the right pieces (2016). Fuente has had three years (more than enough time) since then to develop somebody to run it like Evans could. Whether it should have been Josh Jackson before he transferred, Willis by this point, or one of the two high-level recruits who still can't find the field, it hasn't happened for any of them. He certainly hasn't lacked options.

And if it's clear that we can't get anybody who can run that offense, then we should be running a different offense.

bUt FuEnTe'S a Qb GuRu!!!

"How the ass pocket will be used, I do not know. Alls I know is, the ass pocket will be used."
- The BoD

This is my mindset as well. Seems like the offense would run so much better if we had a QB that could run the ball and throw the ball. I'm not sure who is to blame for our lack of QB development (Cornelson or Fuente) but it's a problem.

I have no idea why my username is VT_Warthog.

Arkansas blew a 24-0 lead in the Belk Bowl.

I think its partially that. Certainly since Evans, we have not had a QB that really threatened a defense in the Read-Option game. JJ simply didn't have quick enough feet to consistently hurt a fast defense. The lack of finding a guy who can fit that element and run an efficient passing game certainly is a big problem. HH and QP both fit the "profile" and it's concerning that neither have been judged by coaching to be field-ready.

I guess the bigger concern to me is that, while I would not consider myself a "film expert," it has appeared clear to me since at least 2017 that there has been very, very little that has changed in regards to scheme. Since about mid-2017 it has really seemed like most of our opponents have "figured us out." And this would be why. In modern football, imagining that you can run essentially the same offense year after year and continue to be successful is pretty mind-boggling. Unless you have vastly superior athletes, teams are going to watch your film, adjust to your tendencies and dominate you.

The idea that you (1) Dont have a QB to fit your system (2) Despite that, continue to run your system without any significant adjustments (3) Have a wealth of on-field results telling you this isn't working...and yet continue to do the same things really is bordering on the definition of insanity.

Hopefully the Kill hiring is a sign of some adjustment/improvement/fresh ideas. Cornelson has not impressed me in the least; he certainly isn't the answer to this.

We found the only QB that has had success running this scheme in the JUCO field. We haven't found anyone out of Highschool. Wonder if the staff is actively trying to locate someone in JUCO who has had success at similar schemes?

Overheard as Duke assistant coaches took elevator down from press box: β€œGuys, they stopped the run with a three-man front.” - David Teel Tweet 2018

And if it's clear that we can't get anybody who can run that offense, then we should be running a different offense.

You have to play to your strengths and obviously it isn't the read option with Willis. This is why Bud Foster has been great is that he has adapted to who he has makes adjustments to his scheme. You don't have to completely changes things but you need to put people in position to succeed.

I think it's the fact that a really good QB can mask a lot of flaws in this scheme. Jerod Evans was our running game in 2016. You can't scheme that crazy TD run he had in the ECU game. When this system doesn't have a true game changer at that spot, the flaws and issues (lack of a traditional power running game and sophisticated passing attack) become pretty obvious.

Length, speed, and quarterback play is not as advanced across the board on both sides of the ball. It is pretty staggering to go back and watch the difference back to back.

Perhaps the only position that is better is Dalton Keene is a better blocker than Sam Rogers. (Ducks.)

Agreed. Besides the obvious at QB on offense, we may have more depth on paper at WR, but I don't think we have playmakers quite like Ford, Phillips, and Hodges (Tre shows great potential but not consistent production, Robinson shows flashes as well.) Although the first two had careers derailed by injury, we have yet to restock RB with talent like Marshawn, Shai, and McMillian (King is going to be good but the only impact back we have right now). The talent difference on defense between 2016 and now is strikingly obvious. Major drop off there.

I tend to disagree. I think our best current receivers are as good as many of the best in years past. Hell. I'd take tre with the ball in his hands in open field over ford.

"I play real sports, not trying to be the best at exercising..." - KP

Tre is definitely talented and a crazy good athlete, but Ford is arguably the best WR in VT history and an incredibly reliable route runner and possession receiver. I'd take them both in a heartbeat but to this point in time, if I had to choose one, I would take Ford. Tre is going to be great but I think we need to pump the hype breaks on him a little bit.

Antonio Freeman would like a word

And Eddie Royal.

Ford was a hands and route guy with mediocre speed IMHO. I'd take Antonio Freeman, Eddie Royal, Andre Davis, Ernest Wilford, maybe Josh Morgan first

Conclusion: We no longer have a qb that can run the scheme

Absolutely true. And the QB that could run the scheme was notoriously a one-read QB

From your initial post about the Kill hire I inferred that he adjusted his scheme to fit his players. Maybe he can help Fuente do the same?

If so, would you expect much can change mid-season, or should we really not expect to see much impact from the Kill hire until next year?

Regardless, it is awfully disappointing that the current staff is unable or unwilling to adjust to the strengths of who they have.

I would love for them to bend the IZR dive back opposite of where the QB is going instead of due north/south. That would fit King and McClease a little better.

Psy-Ops take...

In 2016 Fuente was the new guy and probably wasn't so "my way or the highway" so as to get buy-in from the upperclassmen. He needed guys like Facyson, Rodgers, Ford, Phillips, Baron, Clark, and McLaughlin on his side. The result was errrybody playing fast and loose, not tight and hesitant.

In 2016, Fuente was not going to bench Sam Rodgers because he forgot to get off the ground with the football.

Leonard. Duh.

Sam Rogers wasn't a green 180lb true freshman playing against ODU in a meaningless OOC game either.

Bye Week is as bad as Off Season.
Discuss.

Leonard. Duh.

I understand competition is good thing. We used to have a stacked QB room back in my day at Tech. The constant competition coming in has to effect the QB pyschie. I feel like its in consent fluctuation under Fluente. Having a steady QB room would certainly help. The more people Fuente brings in the more we lose out through the portal.

What's
Important
Now

The scheme is fine. Its the positional coaching that is lacking. The o-line techniques employed to block today are so passive its honestly infuriating to watch. Understanding that the referees can call us for an illegal downfield block if we get aggressive on RPOs is not the same as just not getting aggressive to block on run-plays.

The wide receivers are better talent-wise on the whole than we've had in a while, and we've got way too many of them. The lack of blocking ability even from the second year and up guys is a huge glaring issue on the sweeps. McMillan is getting playing time because he blocks (the TE TD). Unless King closes that weakness up, Tmac's gonna keep getting snaps. Oh the weird WRs can fumble, "no big deal," vs RB fumble, "thou shalt sit," dynamic really makes me wonder if the coach deciding that (Fuente) is even interested in treating the players as equals.

And the lack of any visible secondary technique improvement has me wondering what the coaches for that group do.

DC brought up an interesting point about S&C that got absolutely derailed, so I'm going to try and reel it in here.

The term "Hilgartification" is thrown around a lot to describe the physical changes players have undergone through Hilgart's weight program. Is it impressive? Yes. Is it pretty standard everywhere else too though? Probably.

Our players may look strong, but how strong are they? In the TSL podcast after the Boston College game (can be found on YouTube), Will Stewart made the point that we had a few players get injured on a play where they simply got knocked down by the other guy. The S&C program should be judged by the on-field performance, not before-and-after Instagram posts.

Additionally, I have noticed the amount of players playing in shoulder braces have increased since 2016. I don't know if that is a new preventative measure, or maybe shoulders have always been getting injured and this brace is the new standard. Regardless, the amount of guys with shoulder injuries since Beamer left seems to be higher than what it was.

Certain injuries like bone breaks and concussions are unavoidable no matter how great your S&C is. But ligaments, joints, etc. are avoidable with proper weight training. Clearly Hilgart knows more about this than me, or anyone else on this site for that matter, but we're not the ones getting paid to perform.

French has brought up injuries before and how he has concerns about the medical staff, not the S&C. Im more concerned about that. We have seen players under both Beamer and Fuente go to outside physicians. Is there a lack of highly skilled team physicians because of the smaller market that is Blacksburg?

If my son or daughter played sports at VT and got hurt, I would not hesitate to take them out of the area for a 2nd opinion, especially if they had a chance at the next level.

Dr. Marc Siegel recently retired. He was a team doctor for years. I tore my ACL in high school, and he did my knee reconstruction. I was back to playing soccer in three months because the surgery was so successful (albeit high school soccer; the recovery time to play college football would be much longer). All over his office, he had various pictures and letters from patients (many of whom were athletes; AndrΓ© Davis was one) expressing their gratitude towards the job he had done getting them back to 100%. I am wondering if him retiring has anything to do with the concerns with the medical staff French has noted.

Marshall University student.
Virginia Tech fanatic.

Those concerns pre-date Fuente. I think the orthopedic medicine staff is good when it comes to gimmicks to keep hurt guys playing. But, in terms of rehabilitating injuries, it sure seems like a lot of guys develop chronic issues.

I mentioned watching the 2016 ECU game. It is staggering how good Vinny Mihota looked in that game, versus Vinny Mihota in the bowl game last year. Lots of guys get a pretty standard injury and never come close to recovering fully like players do in a lot of other programs. I don't know if it is fair or not, but it feels like part of that is the lack of depth leads to guys coming back too soon, which creates chronic issues. Again, that is pure conjecture on my part, and I may be too close to VT football as a fan to be objective. But, it sure seems like there has been an issue going back to the whole Adibi shoulder harness deal.

elite players have realized that grouping has real benefits. You see it at every level of sports now, all the way down to scholastic sports and youth all-star travel teams. You're going to get better in practices, not games, and when the guy across from you is NFL bound, you're getting better. When you're surrounded by elite play makers, it's that much harder for opponents to double you or scheme away from you. And depth at position groups means you're insulated from being pushed back on the field before you're really ready or being asked to do things before you're really prepared. Sure, it's more of a challenge, but that's kind of the point. There is no path of least resistance to the NFL unless you're a 1 in a million freak like Ed Oliver who came out of high school pretty much ready for the NFL. His two college career highlights were terrorizing Baker Mayfield in his first game and then getting into a Starter Jacket argument with Applewhite late last fall. He will be a first round pick, but he's not going to be the #1 pick, which I think he could have been. That looks like Bosa, fellow 5 star, Ohio State. He could end up behind Quinnen Williams (borderline 4 star, Alabama), Rashan Gary (5-star, Michigan), Clelin Ferrell (borderine 4, Clemson), or Christian Wilkins (mid-4, Clemson). If so, he may have lost multiple millions by choosing Houston over a blue blood program.

Example A: Clemson has a back who tore us ACL five months ago. He scored a touchdown last week against Syracuse.

I just sit on my couch and b*tch. - HokieChemE2016

As someone who has suffered more than 10 orthopedic injuries, I would like to point out that the vast majority of people take more than year to get back above 90% pre-injury. Most people get above 80% pre-injury in 3 months. Its not unusual for full recovery (if possible) to take multiple years. An actual joint/ cartilage/ ligament/ tendon injury can be very difficult tor recover from, or if its completely minor or just positioned perfectly, not even be noticeable beyond pain. There is a reason ACL injuries were once considered career-ending.

One of the items from the turkey bacon team meeting was the attitude of the off season strength program. It was only highlighted in one or two sentences in the main article.

well we just spent 500k on a brand new health/nutrition and the weight room is being done/ upgraded as well. I for one having sat one hillgarts little spill to the recruits think as a strength and conditioning coach he is doing a great job. I know a lot of you think its his job to keep players healthily but I can assure you that there is no cutting edge weight lifting program that only certain schools are doing and we aren't. there is only so much you can do as far as workouts. routines, drills, etc. hillgarts main job is to motivate guys in the weight room to be as productive as possible and to bust their butts when they are in there. to get the most out of guys while they are in there. and I think he is doing that. he and his staff are also in charge of setting diets for players gaining or losing weight and gaining muscle mass etc. which is why those "Instagram post" mean something. the guys that need to gain weight are gaining good weight and the guys that are losing weight are losing fat weight and not strength weight. I don't think there is any way in the world you can blame him for any injuries. maybe you can blame actual on field coaches for doing to many contact drills and kids getting hurt in those or not enough contact drills so they get hurt in the actually games when they do hit because they aren't conditioned for those hits. its a catch 22. you cant win that war.

twitter @smithey_daniel

Totally agree. It's human nature to blame people when things don't go right. Blame isn't something I think is reality here.

1) bigger, stronger, faster is a real thing. Just look at the stats on size, lifts, speed and the general physics if you are a stats person.
2) When you don't have depth the injuries stand out more. Youth equates to a lack of depth and our injuries are going to stand out.
3). The Instagram posts are just a tool to motivate a bunch of young college men. I don't believe for a second our strength program is just some sort of bodybuilding contest. The kids get the by product of looking better (and other motivations) so they post it. This isn't anything new.

I think point 1 is just a sign of the times. Football is trying to adapt by changing the rules. Our team isn't any different than others. The key is getting more good players are developing them over time to be stronger, more knowledgeable and play fast.

The development that happens (or doesn't) as this season goes along and into 2020 will show you how well our strength program does.

Something else to consider when it comes to injuries - there's a growing concern across sports that we are seeing more injuries in young athletes because they're specializing in their sport at an earlier age than previous generations.

Instead of participating in multiple sports throughout the year that would challenge and/or strain different groups muscles and joints, young athletes are instead focusing on their sport of choice closer to year-round. Thus, they are putting more strain on the body parts needed for their chosen sport.

This specialization trend has long been a concern in sports like soccer & basketball, where travel teams can start relatively early. But as we've seen, high-caliber athletes in football are often going to more camps, participating in 7v7, etc. than previous generations.

I'd have to think that we're starting to see a lot of this across college football. Not to mention, the advancements in weight training and nutrition across the board is creating bigger, stronger, faster athletes everywhere. The average level of athlete is likely higher in D-1 now than even 15 years ago due to these types of advances.

Clearly we need to replace Hilgart's regiment with Crossfit.

Thanks for bringing this point out of the fray.

In one of the games this year I think I saw two players - one of which was Tre Turner, if I recall correctly - get sidelined with a hamstring injury (which may have been just a minor tweak, only out for a play or two).

I've had hamstring problems in the past and this set off some alarm bells in my mind. Every time I aggravated a hamstring, it was in part poor conditioning on the muscle and in part poor preparation for using that muscle. Any time I've done my proper prep - warming up, light stretch, warming more, foam roll, warming up, long stretch - I haven't had problems.

I know that some muscles, under intense physical activity, can be strained/pulled at any time. Football qualifies as intense physical activity.

But when I saw this, I thought we weren't taking prep work seriously enough. That's a S&C coaching problem, or a player problem.

I'll echo your point that the guys paid to get this right know far more than I do, but I certainly don't expect our guys to be going down with a strained muscle just by playing football.

Good it's only a hamstring injury and not a leg break....we all know what happens when horses go down...

Just watched the press conference and unless I missed it, I don't think they asked Fuente about the QB situation or Willis injury.

EDIT: Fuente said Garbutt is day to day. Bud said he has been practicing the last couple of days, needs to knock rust off, but expects to have him back soon. I read Bud's answer as we can expect to see Garbutt in a limited role Friday. Willis said he is ready to go Friday night.

Given that he hands off on every read option, that walking boot shouldn't be a hindrance.

Alright then. Let's do this thang

I am not sure if it's a good idea to ride ORVs when you are a stud RB with a potential future in the NFL.

Depends on the ORV. Quad or dirt bike, then yeah, definitely a concern. But if it's a Jeep, side by side, or some other built up offroad vehicle, then not really "unsafe".

Willis has been practicing.

Really need Garbutt and Hoyt back as well. And Hazelton, whatever is going on there needs to end. Willis needs his safety blanket.

I don't know if I buy that he's opting to sit. He's been battling a hamstring issue. Recovery on those is very unpredictable and its very easy to have a setback.

I've heard this as well. He's been getting "2nd opinions" outside of VT to maintain a sense of speculation, but ultimately I heard he was trying to sit to maintain his draft stock.

If this is the case, he's getting horrible advice. His draft stock before the season wasn't high enough to warrant this action.

I don't think I can believe he would be doing that. Nothing about it makes sense.

Any chance Haz/the staff is "pulling a King"? He hasn't been redshirted before and can redshirt this year if he only plays in four games.

He redshirted his first year here.

Does sitting out a year due to transfer rules count as being redshirted?

Yes it does. That's a huge consideration when a player transfers. If they haven't redshirted, they don't lose a year of eligibility. Hoffman is "redshirting" this year for example.

My sauce tells me it's a combination of a sore hamstring and being challenged about playing with said sore hamstring and the discussions around that.

I remember reading it in some news source back in college quoting Jimmy when he was DB for us. Wouldn't surprise me if he copied it from Prime Time.

Pretty touching - I hadn't seen that. Thanks for sharing

I'm just here to sling some legs

Wow. Great video. The man deserves a lot of credit!

Tyrod did it Mikey, Tyrod did it!!

So if Willis was barefoot yesterday for the presser, does that mean it was really a body double and that the coaches are sending out a signal that Paul is dead?

I get that reference.

No, the Walrus was Paul.

Paul will probably outlive them all. Although my Mom was just at his concert and he had to take a few sips of water mid-concert. He said he had never taken a break for water during any concert in his entire career before that night. I'm sure back in the day he used to take some 'soda' breaks.

Meanwhile, Fuente has to take a water break between every question at press conferences.

That's not Paul. It's been Billy Shields in disguise for the last 52 years.

Leonard. Duh.

I could be the walrus, I'd still have to bum rides off people...

If you're not sure if my comment warrants a "/s", it probably does.

Depends on what you hear if you play the presser audio backwards.

Is this some kind of the Dark Side of Oz trick?

But only if you listen to it in a yellow submarine.
