The Lady Hokies improved to 3-0 as they absolutely destroyed GW today 92-57. They tied a school record with 16 three pointers, led by Aisha Sheppard.

Tech's 92 points were 17 more than the Colonials had given up in its first two contests combined.

•The Hokies made a season-high 16 triples while the Colonials made just two

•Virginia Tech is now 12-10 against the Colonials.
•Kenny Brooks' record moves to 89-49 at Virginia Tech and 426-171 in his career.
•Tech is 11-2 all-time on December 1.
•The win was the Hokies' 58th straight against non-conference opposition inside Cassell.
•Tech's starting lineup of Amoore, Sheppard, Cayla King, Jones and Kitley, accounted for 72 points.
•Kitley registered a double-double (16 points, 12 rebounds), her third consecutive to open the season and the first time in her career that she has had three in a row. She also went 7 of 7 from the field.
•The 22-point output was Sheppard's first 20-point game since scoring 32 vs. Virginia (Feb. 23, 2020)
•Cayla King has hit three or more 3's in each game this season. She has 12 this season in after having 26 all of last season.

Always down for a FAM thread

The Lady Hokies look like a really good BBall team. Coach Brooks has put together a deep and long roster; and he seems to be playing everyone in these early games in all kinds of combinations. That should pay off in depth when we get to ACC play.

I noted in the thread before the game that it would be interesting to see if the game was played at GW's preferred pace or ours. Looks like we played ours and they played theirs. We scored over our season average and they scored their season average.

Looking forward to seeing us play a better team. Not sure App State will be that team.

Doesn't matter if it's cake or pie as long as it's chocolate.
