We've reached the end of the Six Pick for 2020. And it all comes down to this week.
There's a three-way tie for the lead between Hokietopher, Lozo1016, and Fencer. And another 9 within 5 of the lead who aren't technically mathematically eliminated. Pick well and Happy Holidays to ALL!
Northwestern @ Ohio State (-20.5)
B1G Championship, of sorts. Did anOSU qualify? Do they deserve to be there? Are they 3 touchdowns better than the other team. After only 5 games, hard to tell. They've been held under 40 points only once, and even then they scored 38. Conversely, Northwestern hasn't scored more than 30 points since their first game of the year against Murland. Maybe it's within 10 at half...but anOSU will pull away in the 4th quarter to "prove" they deserve to be in the playoffs.
Oklahoma @ Iowa State (+5.5)
Big 12 Championship. Both teams have 2 losses. Iowa St already won the first matchup this season. Still trying to figure out how a 2 loss team is #6 in the polls.... Anyway, on the field, the Big 12 have been known to be light on defense. But the Cyclones have actually held opponents to 22 or under in 7 games this year. Conversely, OK isn't a slouch on D, but scores in bunches posting back to back 62 point games around Halloween. Oklahoma is solid, and Iowa St is Jekyll and Hyde...but I'll take the Cyclones in this one to cover the 5.5
Louisiana @ Coastal Carolina (-3.5)
Sun Belt Championship. With both teams ranked. Soooooo 2020. (Maybe if Clemson loses, CC and Clemson can play for the title of best team in South Carolina?) They've already met with CC winning the first meeting by a field goal in mid-October. Beside that game, both teams have racked up ALL wins and no losses. I know its the Sun Belt, but LA did beat Iowa State. The first meeting was settled by 3. With this spread at 3.5, feel like the Ragin Cajuns will cover this.
Clemson @ Notre Dame (+10.5)
ACC Championship. What Vegas is telling me is that Trevor is worth 18 points. I don't know about that. ND hasn't been blowing people out, but has been winning every game they've suited up for. Including the first time against Clemson...no matter whom the QB was, wasn't, could've been, whatever. They won. Putting the #2 team as a double digit dog is a slap in their face. (And I hate ND.) But if they can't cover the 11...they do NOT deserve to be in the playoffs. And should just go play the Hoosiers for the title of best team in Indiana. I'll take the Domers.
Alabama @ Florida (+17.5)
SEC Title Game. The Gators are lucky last week didn't affect their appearance in this game. And Bammer is lucky that the Gators game last week didn't affect the Gators appearance in this game. Florida has tip toed along this year with flashes of just plain mediocrity. Bammer has been full Bammer with the #3 scoring offense in the land. While someone from the SEC East had to be in the game, they are only there for the free shrimp and the photo key chain. Bammer will have this covered by half and extend it winning by 30.
Tulsa @ Cincinnati (-14.5)
American Championship. Tulsa lost the first game to OKSt. Cincinnati Hasn't lost yet. Are the bearcats playing for anything? Can Tulsa spoil the party? At 2 td's I feel like that's a lot of points for a team that's trying to prove the little man can should get a sniff for NY6 and maybe even the playoffs. That pressure either makes diamonds or causes cracks. Something tells me Tulsa gets up for this game, and potentially pulls the outright upset. But definitely covers the 14.5

Thank you all that played at least one week. I'm not in love with CBS, but the one thing it does is track easily and hide our picks so you actually have to pick the games instead of against the next person. Maybe next year won't be so 2020 and we will have "better" games to pick from.

Also, did you see some of the PNC Championship this weekend? Charlie Woods, Cameron Kuchar, and LJ Daly can play some golf now! Some really great stuff. Charlie Woods is already an incredible golfer. Note the following: (1) the draw on #3 for his first eagle (at 11 years old!), (2) the 1st day 16th hole approach shot to within 2 ft, and (3) his 3 wood from 202 yds through a tight gap between bunkers on a par 5 (I think it was 18) on Sunday that rolled up to the back level where the pin was and barely off the back fringe. Insane!

I did see some of the highlights on Insta. Man, that kid is GOOD. But what really struck me, is that all of them had a blast this weekend. I'm glad they are able to do some fun things like this instead of just jumping back into the grind. The time between Thanksgiving and New Years was always silly season, and so fun to watch the Skins game and various matches...including the trash talking. (Speaking of, did you see the note Charlie left JT in the bunker on Saturday. Talk about apple...tree...)
Agree, that format is awesome! Cameron Kuchar and John Daly Jr. are also incredible. John Daly Jr is going to be playing golf on the Arkansas Razorback golf team starting next year. That kids swing is FAST!
I did see the note. That was a note that Mike Thomas gave to Charlie earlier in the week on the same hole (when Charlie went into that bunker), and then when Mike and Justin went into that bunker on the right on Saturday, Charlie went in and placed that same note from the same hole there. That's some moxie! I know those families are close friends so its al good. Hilarious!
