Hokies jump back in the rankings after a week with two wins, a second win over a ranked team and some key losses by teams ahead of them.
Nine teams from last weeks rankings suffered losses this week.
The Hokies however still havent made Andy Katz's Power 36 to show how the opinion of the Hokies varies. The comedy here is Clemson is #33 and Villanova #4.

I like it. I think jumping to 15 was a little premature for this team. Nice to see a number back next to their name and beat Longwood tonight
Not sure how Katz justifies it but its interesting nonetheless. Some teams are being penalized for not playing enough games. There are also quite a few teams not getting credit for where they are this season because of lack of exposure
These are the undefeated teams with at least 5 wins. Only 6 of the 16 are ranked in the AP Poll with 3 others receivig votes. There are 70+ schools with at least 5 wins and only 1 loss. This hasnt been the season where all the P5 teams play a large slate of powderpuffs either. The cool part is seeing some of the little guys thriving this season. Abilene Christian, Marist, Coastal Carolina and The Citadel all jump to mind

Coastal Carolina is becoming a beast in basketball and football. Them sunny beaches in Myrtle Beach will get after ya!
I wonder if this is a direct result of the money and publicity that came with winning the NCAA Baseball Championship in 2016. May not be direct but that schools Athletic facilities have really changed in the last few years.
KenPom has VT at 37 while Clemson is 21 and Nova is 4.

What is penn states ranking now? Announcers in the game talked about them like they just had some bad luck early but were a good team.
45th, so behind us, but not much. They were a solid team last year and should be good this year.
They're 45 in KenPom with losses to 2-3 Seton Hall and 6-0 Michigan; wins over VMI, Tech, and VCU. They beat VMI by 21 while we struggled and won by 7.
So it wouldn't be seen as a "bad" loss except that it was a blowout.
If Tech can get the turnovers under control then I think a lot more people will be comfortable ranking / moving the Hokies up.
Seton Hall is now 5-5 and will likely finish much stronger as they just had three or four transfers cleared to play. They have wins over Penn State and Marquette. Losses to Louisville when they were healthy, Oregon and a 6-2 Providence squad.
If we win every remaining game, we will be national champions!
And if we score more points than our opponents we will win those games!
