Hokies Land Transfer OL Johnny Jordan from Maryland

Some probably already saw this posted in the recruiting thread, but remember that player acquisitions are worthy of their own thread so feel free to post this kind of information as its own forum topic in the future.

On his most recent Maryland roster profile he is listed at 6-1 305, a size profile usually associated with Center, but I will defer any assessment of his fit to French.

College Park to Blacksburg is quite the campus upgrade

You will see this game, this upset and this sign next on ESPN Sportscenter. Virginia Tech 31 Miami 7

His decision was made after a phone call with longtime Virginia Tech assistant coach Bud Foster. All Foster told him was, "We win. They don't."

So we traded JJs with Maryland...I can live with that

He did play Center at Maryland and was on the Rimington Trophy Watch list in 2019, but dealt with minor injuries as a Junior. This season he started and played in four out of five games after initially choosing to opt out. 247 Sports graded him out at a 68.3 on 77 plays.

Portal giveth, and Portal taketh away

21st century QBs Undefeated vs UVA:
MV7, MV5, LT3, Grant Wells, Braxton Burmeister, Ryan Willis, Josh Jackson, Jerod Evans, Michael Brewer, Tyrod Taylor, Sean Glennon, and Grant Noel. That's right, UVA. You couldn't beat Grant Noel.

Healthy bodies needed, waiting for the French eval since he is the big ugly guru

I can imagine no more rewarding a career. And any man who may be asked in this century what he did to make his life worthwhile, I think can respond with a good deal of pride and satisfaction:
“I served in the United States Navy"

I mean either he or Hoffman are going to be moving positions, neither are going be happy as backups.

With Hewitt leaving, maybe he can play DL.
/s... kinda

Fortunately, RG is wide open because of the portal. Whichever one of them turns out to be the weaker C should be able to slide over a spot.

No, I *don't* want to go to the SEC. Why do you ask?

We don't love dem Hoos.
