OT: Dwight Freeney lacerated his spleen trying to tackle Vick

Stumbled across this interesting interview with Dwight Freeney. The first question is about playing Michael Vick while he was at Syracuse. Apparently Freeney lacerated his spleen while trying to tackle Vick in the 2000 game.

Reminds me of one of the stories in this article.

Mario Edwards, 1999 FSU CB: "True story. Our starting linebacker and our starting defensive end both tore ACLs chasing Michael Vick. It's nearly impossible to tackle him one-on-one, he's fast, he's strong, he's explosive and he loves the game of football."

Now I'm trying to remember who Vick trucked in his first Spring game back in 1998.

Not sure about that play, but I did hear MV7's roommate hit him late out of bounds during that same spring game (and I heard it was HARD)

They'll really get after ya

Brenden Hill? Didn't know about that play but moderately sure Brenden was his roommate

Pretty sure he was Marcus's roommate

My memory is hazy. Vick and someone I heard he was friends with took some hard shots at one another. Coaches put an end to it quickly.

Re: those FSU ACL tears:

I remember MV7 saying he felt bad for them about those injuries, during his 30 for 30 (pt. 1).

Best line from the Vick 30 for 30 was during the natty and he said "I was just snappin dudes acls. You put me on that turf and I was dangerous"..
