The men play BC today at noon at Cassell Coliseum. The game is on Regional Sports Network. This is the second game against BC this season. The Hokies lost at BC on Jan 25 56-61. The Hokies let thus one slip away at the end of the game after leading most of the game. BC is 11-12 and 5-7.
BC is still taller than the Hokies. Jairus Hamilton(#1) was 7-11 and 5-7 from three for 23 points in the last game. Tech needs to find a way to slow him down today. Jay Heath(#5) scored 15 on 5-11, 2-5.
In the last game BC shot 44% overall and 40% from three versus their season average in ACC play of 40% and 29%. The Hokies had an uncharacteristically high 14 turnovers in the first game.
BC has been out rebounded by 9 per game and out scored by 72-63 in ACC play this year. They average 11 assists and 13 turnovers per game. I have given up predictions; but this game and the next two against Pitt and Miami should be a chance for the Hokies to get back on track if they can find some offense. It would be good if Nolley could be more efficient by either making more shots or shooting less, if he's not shooting well.

Big game today. I feel like if we dont get the W today, the rest of the season will be a real struggle. I would love to see a big win where we are able to get in a groove offensively and build some confidence for the final push this year.

We've faced zone multiple times this season. About 90% of the possessions you watch us against it and it looks like they're seeing a zone for the first time ever. That's like my second biggest frustration watching our games. The first being any time Bede drives into the lane and has a path to the basket for a layup or at least draw a foul and he doesn't even bother to look for it but instead circles out back to the perimeter so we can pass the ball around until the shot clock expires.

We were picked to finish 14th, and they look every bit as bad as a team who would finish 14th, probably worse.
I know there is a lot to like about Mike Young but maybe the early games got us thinking things were better than they really were.
They really don't have an inside theater, which makes almost impossible to run any kind of offense. Early in the season, other teams did not recognize this and tried.to guard the whole court. That let us score from three. Now every team ignores the.paint.and runs us off the three point line. And we don't have an answer. Not going to get better until we have an inside threat.
Lost twice to a team that pretty much sucks.
