If Fuente actually had a meeting with Whit and was fired yesterday we would have heard about it from more than one random twitter egg, hell the athletics department probably would have put out an official statement right after it happened, there would be no reason to keep it a secret at that point.
As for the other Baylor account, who knows.

Based on the VT player Twitter posts that I am seeing. It seems that the players did not now what was going on yesterday. And then at about 3 PM yesterday the players all went twitter silent. That was about the time of the "Baylor media event." which wasn't open to the public.

Fu has this job at Baylor if he wants it. It's more money, support, it's just more everything. That's hard for Hokie fans to swallow but its a fact. It's also closer to his family.
I don't get the idea he wants it. And please read this next statement carefully.
I am constantly talking about lack of resources. This is in no way me trying to prop up that argument. So please don't thank that this is a loaded message.
But, this very much seems like Fu feels a bit slighted with regards to how much support his staff is getting. Baylor has ponied up the money not only to him, but to build a staff that can get it done off and on the field. I don't think Fu is confident that will ever happen here.
I have been critical of Fu and a lot of the decisions he's made, but to be fair I don't want people thinking this was just him running off to grab the cash elsewhere. I get the idea he wants to make this work.
If Fu does leave, it opens up a huge can of worms. This isn't going to be easy, it's going to be messy, we will lose recruits and current players, and the next couple of years will be a roller coaster again.
The visit today was a recruiting pitch by Baylor to Fu, it's his job if he wants it. We will know by Friday, and possibly as soon as tomorrow imo.

I've been critical of Fuente all season and wanted him gone after the Duke game. But like we've all said this timing would be awful and we're set up for a decent season this year.
But by now I hope he gets this job just so I don't have to hear him talk about how this is home and how much he loves the fans hear knowing it's all a facade. Just end this shit.

Coaches interview all the time. Coaches get named for jobs all the time, and don't take them. If a kid gets recruited away because Fuente went for an interview closer to his home, then he can go suit up for someone else.

Thank God it's over so everyone can get back to regularly scheduled programming. Fuente checked out another option, IMO this is a good thing, it means other programs think highly of our coach. Some of yall overreacted and let the interwebs get your panties in a wad. Some of you just don't like him as is. As long as the HC of VT football is running a clean program in term of holding players responsible for actions, treating them fairly (not equal but fair) and the program is moving forward, then I don't care what the optics look like. We as fans get so bent out of shape over things we usually have no clue about and/or we can't control one bit.
If players feel a way, kick rocks. You signed up to be a Hokie, be a Hokie! Coaches lie and leave all the time, it's part of the game. At your core, your're here for you and to maximize your ability to be successful when you leave BBurg, whether thats for the NFL or another career path. Whether Fuente is here or not, players still have themselves to look after, so get to work fellas for yourself and for HokieNation!

He got offered a job apparently, a better job, turned it down and wants to be the coach at Virginia Tech. That should be enough, the rest of you that have personal issues with Fuente, who, I've said before, GUARANTEED have never actually met him should get off their high horse.
