The most interesting note for me is that we have the 2nd highest number of selections across all four teams with 13 players. Only one player behind Clemson's 14.

Comments
List doesn't even include Hoffman, Hooker, Reed or Blackshear.
I would say that Hoffman's stock probably suffers from lack of P5 snaps.
I think the only spot that Hooker could reasonably overtake one of these QB's is Micale Cunningham. The rest make sense to me. I wouldn't be surprised to see Hoffman or Reed make the postseason teams.
Overall, to me its a positive signal that we have a lot of talent on this team heading into a season where we have a big opportunity to win the Coastal. We need to make it count.
i wouldn't expect it to include Blackshear if he's not even eligible to play yet
What I'm saying is those talented players not listed playing with the ones that were listed the potential there is strong.
all im sayin is we all should stop collectively counting on blackshear being a major contributor in 2020 as a foregone conclusion until we hear about the waiver
Reed hasn't had meaningful numbers in a couple years, only going on potential here
If Hooker stays healthy, watch out.
I, for one, am shocked Brennan Armstrong is not on this list. I'm hearing he is the next Tim Tebow.
No APrimusHokie? Smh😔
Other Hokies making the four teams:
Second Team
OL Lecitus Smith
CB Jermaine Waller
Third Team
WR Tre Turner
Fourth Team
TE James Mitchell
DL DaShawn Crawford
LB Dax Hollifield
DB Chamarri Conner
K Brian Johnson
I'll be surprised if Tre Turner is worse than 2nd team.
You underestimate the power of writers who only see "Florida State" and "Clemson" next to players' names
I know you are being slightly facetious, but theres a lot of depth at WR in the ACC this year and we don't exactly throw the ball all over the yard. Other than Justyn Ross, who above him do you think he is a guarantee to outperform?
Justyn Ross is now a guarantee to not outperform because he's out for the season after having neck surgery (spine related).
I think Tre could definitely be the #4 voted WR, which would place him squarely on the second team
Amazing that less than half a season at punt returner was enough for the media to make Robinson 1st team. He didn't return a kick until the second quarter of the Wake game.
All ACC Punter, we are so bak!
#punterswag
Jermaine "Wall" er - nobody is catching a passing on him. I like this guy in one on one coverage. While Farley has the size and arm length, Waller is a true cover corner, he can be that shutdown guy. Together they give us an awesome combo. Overall I like the DB-Unit along with Chammari Conner, Devon Hunter and Deablo if he can stay healthy. A good combination of size and speed. I think Conner might need some coverage help.
I will give credit where credit is due. For how many years have we been bemoaning our O-Line? Now to have a preseason first team selection? We are making some progress there.
I think this may be the deepest OL in my time as a fan. Depending on who you talk to I think we have between 6-9 starting caliber OL this season. We have experience and a ton of competition for spots.
ROAD GRADERS FOR DAYS!
Credit to shibest too our special teams have been pretty fantastic
i think the overall theme here is time. I firmly believe that Fuente is doing the right things. It's not his fault he's handicapped in recruiting relative to other schools given their resources and advantages.
It might have taken some time, and this years class ranking sucked but this shows Fuente has built a team of players. Now we just need to execute (that includes coaches designing and calling plays that the players can execute).
DBU has 3 guys on the list (Deablo and Hunter could easily make the end of seaon list with good years). Two LBs, when was the lasta time that happened? Adibi and hall? I think Hooker could get 2nd or 3rd selection too. And we have line depth!. Sure its VT and we don't have an RB or DE which is weird, but I'm excited for this team. Which this is the first year of Fuente I can say that for.
EDIT: fixed typos
I wonder what happened to that lady.
I think we may have gotten two LB's across all teams during the early 2010's with overlapping Bruce Taylor, Jack Tyler, and Tariq Edwards, etc.
2012, Jack Tyler 1st Team, Bruce Taylor Honorable Mention
2016 Tremaine Edmunds 2nd Team, Andrew Motuapuaka 3rd Team
2017 Edmunds 1st Team, Motuapuaka 3rd Team
Forgot about how much progress Motu made over the years.
Also using this comment for my Tariq Edwards was an underrated Backer for VT take. Very fast edge player.
Since 2013, the Hokies have had 3 O-Line earn All-ACC honors, 2 in 2016, 1 in 2017; so Darrisaw is in rare company as only Wyatt Teller earned to First Team honors.
This is the most loaded Hokies team we have had in a while, skill and experience wise. I bet it helps our recruiting as the season goes on. Over time kids will realize they want to be Hokies. I truly feel that the 2020 recruiting class will not be near as bad as as it looks from a rating standpoint. The transfer portal also gives me a lot of hope, guys who make the wrong decision the first time can correct it and end up at Virginia Tech a few years later.
