Welcome to Hokie Nation Mr. Bullock!
Let's Go!
Hokies!
LET'S GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
Needs to link up with Tom Brady
#TB12
That didn't work out great for us last time though...
But this is a hype thread so let's not think about that. LFG, Tahj Bullock!
Nice, looks like our TE room will be set!
Fam!
this could be an inflection point in this class. we need to get other high priority targets on board
Thought that said infection point and I got triggered
ALLLLLLL ABOARDDDDDD
Just posted a question about what time he might be committing on the recruiting thread. Obviously, I need to TKP more efficiently.
Film reminds me of Jerod Evans! Nice pickup.
My thoughts exactly dangerous enough with his feet with an above average arm. I like it.
Sounds like a cross between Logan Thomas and Jerod Evans....Logan Evans or Jerod Thomas?
Jergan Thovans
continuing the FR2VT trend that Wilfred Pene started
Jergan Thovens and Wilfred Pene are prime Arsenal FC player names

This one was too close...

Cartoons Plural. Kid was all world.
Some said Cartoons Plural was a joke for the Hokies.
But I really loved that guy.
Epitomized Ut Prosim. First guy in, last guy out type of guy. A real hard worker.
I hear he was a coach's son, too.
I believe it from the way he schooled opposing players.
Great pick up! Go Hokies!
I'm glad TB ended up being our QB signee. That's some size for being a rising senior and I like the humility he displayed in his video. Looks like he already has college level speed and also is a true QB, looking through different options before tucking and running.
Great to have a QB commit that seems to exhibit a level of maturity and having done his due diligence prior to committing. Also great he has the physical stature to see over His linemen and the line of scrimmage. I think he'll appreciate the great academics at VT. Welcome aboard, Tahj. Study hard, work hard and do great things.
I like the kid's film. He seems to have a good grasp of what his coach is asking him to do (offense looks similar to the one Corn-Fu run), he makes quick decisions, and is quite slippery (think Bryce Perkins) with good straight line speed. The most intriguing thing to me is that he fits the ball into tight spaces regularly, thus giving his WRs opportunities to succeed in YAC.
It was mentioned on another thread that his arm strength might not be top level. That might be true, but his throwing mechanics are also not terribly good. He tends to push the ball out. That may be what appears to be weaker arm strength... something that can easily be worked on.
I like his big frame, willingness to run when needed, and ability to make a lot of different throws. I only watched the first 20 snaps on his Hudl tape. He was only pressured AT ALL on 3 of those 20 plays. First off, great O-line play. Second, has anyone watched enough tape to see how he handles pressure? I think given a few years to develope, he could be nice. If he can drag along some talent with him, I like him even better!
I saw this tidbit somewhere, but man...I never would've guessed that was Magnitude!
This was a very important step in trying to reset this class. Think he had some real potential and seem like a good fit for this offense.
That commitment video was... interesting.
lol yea... not to get political, but when I heard president trump's sound bit, my eyes widened in surprise and said "whaaaaaat"
Definitely didn't see that coming and never heard a politician sound bit in a commitment video
That's the intro to the song. It's a fairly political song. Meek Mill - Otherside of America
Meek Mill and football together is a winning combination. Fact
Go Birds.
Fly Eagles Fly
MODS!!!
Trust me I was tempted to nuke
I had the initial same reaction, then quickly made the assumption that it was sampled by the song artist.
I knew it was a sampling from the song. I'm wasn't/ am not trying to judge the kid, or get political in violation of community guidelines, hence the "interesting," LOL. It just seemed odd to me. The first half of the video was very classy, with such a nice tribute to his friends, family, coaches, etc. And the overlays of his plays with Vick's highlights was neat. It just seemed like an odd transition when the intro/music started. I'm not mad at it him for it. Excited for his commitment. I like his height and agility. Would like to see him bulk up a little - he seems to be a wiry 225 pounds. Others mentioned a few mechanical tweeks to his throwing motion may be in order, but overall a solid "get" for the good guys. Let's hope it gives us some momentum.
I don't know all the song lyrics, but the song itself has a good sound and fits well with the video. As for the Trump intro, if you remove the political context in which it was said, the message fits. Talking about taking a chance and "what do you have to lose". Picking and committing to a college is a huge decision and a big leap of faith, especially for these high profile athletes. You almost have to go into with a "what do I have to lose" attitude.
That is how I took it. I'm sure it has its own meaning to Tajh.
never heard of that song, so that makes sense.... leg for you.
Not one tweet asking to get his followers up before committing. I like this guy.
Such a great movie
Like the Vick clips interspersed with his. Throws a tight spiral.
Has the physical tools and all of the intangibles you'd want in a QB, but probably will need a couple years to break down and rebuild his mechanics. Hopefully QP does indeed stick around we and can give him a couple of years to properly develop.
FYI, he's already been working on Estime for a couple of weeks now. Starting to feel pretty good about our chances there.
For those that had to look this reference up. 6'1 215....RB that's a lot of man carrying the ball
Now thats what I'm talking about kinda marshawn williams build I like that.

Obligatory

Any relation to Wedley Estime (2011 DE recruit who eventually changed his name to Dadi Nicholas)? Granted, Dadi is from Delray Beah, but was just curious-couldn't find anything online about it
a RB of that stature would fill a pretty enormous need for us.
I do love BOGO shopping
Visions of Evans trucking Maryland...😁
Looked at his twitter page....this dude is 16 years old! WTF!
" FYI, he's already been working on Estime for a couple of weeks now. Starting to feel pretty good about our chances there."
Fuck that would be a great get.
As exciting as this all is and as i am to get him and have a shot at this RB.... We've been here before fellas (exciting new QB commit recruiting in-state players) It's a long ways to signing day and it's a weird world of college recruiting right now. Let's stay calm through the highs and lows.
This is some damn good news!
I like when recruiting news is good.
247 gonna quietly give him a 4th star...cowards! Do it!
Seriously though, who's that big ol' receiver catching his passes?
Physical tools and overall game coming out of HS is very similar to Hooker. He has at least 2-years to develop with the current QB room depth, and his already solid physical traits will only improve. Climbs the pocket well for a high school QB - particularly for one who could easily default to run.
Getting him now also provides some extra hope for Estime, Huggins Bruce, and other offensive weapons.
Nice
Let's go...NJ2VT is still strong.
Crooting is back
Zone read is back...we back
Now let's Get the Running back too....
Very nice pickup. If we can start landing more really solid guys like this who might have been a bit overlooked but have great intangibles and potential, combined with an effective scheme and culture, that's how I think VT can become formidable once again. We may not have flashy recruiting rankings, but like Wisconsin does, a team full of Bullocks, Estimes, Huggins etc. with a chip on their shoulders and a strong team culture will be a force to be reckoned with. Great step toward rebuilding the class.
I think this is the VT of old. Even in the "great" years. Our teams always played overlooked with a chip on their shoulder and I think that was what made us so nasty. We had a bunch of Dawgs on the team and they had something to prove.
Agreed. But now our culture and play on the field have to match that mentality. We can't get punched in the mouth at home by Duke and fold like a cheap suit, losing 45-10. We can't go into Charlottesville with the wrong gameplan on offense and let a one-man UVA team run all over us. Actions have to start backing up the talk again.
Those things can happen and we can still be successful. I think that consistency is key, but look at the '95 season.
Start the season with a loss to BC and then get "punched in the mouth at home" in a shutout loss to Cincy. The thing is that we responded after that with consistency AND strong defense with a win over Texas in the Sugar Bowl ending the season with 10 wins.
There have been a number of head scratchers in previous "up" seasons, but they were mitigated by consistency and defense throughout the year. In JHam we trust... or hope to.
Excellent point. I was there for that season, start to finish, all the home games, the UVA game and the Sugar Bowl. The Cincy game was especially disheartening, poorly played in a steady chilly rain, it was one of the low points of my many decades of VT fandom. In the end, though, it was my favorite season of all, and even with the NC Sugar Bowl season, and I was there for that season, too, I have decided that the '95 season is still the best season VT has played in my lifetime. Now, I'd never been to New Orleans, or a big time bowl before that, and I was of the age and inclination to enjoy the ever lovin' hell out of N'awlins, it was the rags to riches thing, the unknown kicking the big dog's ass, the condescending UT fans, the absolutely wonderful way that game developed and played out...
Thing I know, though, is that every year more than one team loses to an underdog they shouldn't lose to, and it will continue to happen. A lot of things go into those head scratchers, and the fact that D1 caliber athletes are separated by an inch or two, a tenth of a second, or 5-10 lbs, and sometimes the wanna mitigates enough of the difference to produce those results.
And he shares Michael Brewer's and Tom Brady's number! I focus on those awesome intangibles that just can't be taught.
I like his film. I like his commitment video. He seems to be a mature young man with all of the talents required to play QB. In the long run, I dare say we will be happier with Mr. Bullock than some other lost recruit whose name escapes me.
If he can help bring Audric Estime to Virginia tech i would be incredibly happy😃
Seems like the coaching staff did a pretty solid job shifting focus, identifying a QB prospect with the potential to be a future starter in our system, and going hard after him to help reboot the class in fairly short order under unusual conditions.
There will be unforeseen events with individual recruits but if we can adjust and land prospects like Bullock then we'll be just fine.
