Messy situation developing in Tallahassee
Little bit of backstory, due to the racial tensions currently exploding in the US, many public entities have spoken out, and that has turned into sports teams and personalities making statements as well. Well, recently this came to new head coach Mike Norvell in Florida State.
Yesterday he said he made a point of speaking individually with each player to discuss what was going on nationally, and that he took great pride in being a leader so that he could help kids in that kind of way. Except... that never actually happened. According to DT Marvin Wilson, the only communication they received was a mass text to the entire team, and now at least a portion of the players on the team are going to keep away from team workouts and events over those remarks.

At some point, 'Murica will have to come to terms with its blind spot for "successful," ambitious sociopaths.
I think it's more that this required some finesse that couldn't be delivered with a form text.
Mischaracterizing it to the media was an overstep.

This isn't good for the ACC. I don't ever want FSU to beat us, but I prefer them to be a power in the ACC. I also hate to see this kind of thing happen at all because it just sucks for everyone involved.
I don't think it's ultimately going to be a big deal.
It was a bit of a faux pas with the form letter and about fibbing to the media, but it seems that he reacted very quickly and got past it.
As someone said in the other thread about this... why even lie about this? Talk about an unforced error.

yep, cause we've never seen anyone in a prominent position make up shit to tell the media for short term PR benefit when it can be easily proven false...
