The Hokies star and Super Bowl champion got paid too.
#Chiefs FA CB Kendall Fuller, a versatile defensive piece, is headed to the #Redskins, per me and @TomPelissero. He gets a four-year deal worth roughly $40M.β Ian Rapoport (@RapSheet) March 17, 2020

I wonder why he left after a championship. If money, I wonder what the Chiefs offered. Good for him for getting paid, but damn, the Redskins?
My thoughts exactly. Not enough money out there to play for Snyder.
I'd play for Ol' Scratch himself if there's enough cash on the table. Football life is too short.
Besides, Rivera is a defensive guy, and the Panthers ran through walls for him.
Chiefs probably can't offer him that much. Frank Clark is on big money, Chris Jones is about to be on big money, Mahomes will get the biggest money of everyone ever sometime in the next few months. Watkins and Hill have big cap hits this year. They still owe Eric Berry 8m of dead cap too --- chiefs just couldn't pay everyone
also Kendall went to high school half hour away from fedex field
Watkins is walking my dude
haven't seen any news of him being cut quite yet. they'd save 14m in cap space and incur 7m of dead cap by doing it, but he's not a free agent til next offseason
Closer to home? That's about the only reason I can see for someone coming back to Washington after one tour with the franchise.
Alright wildturkey....its not like he wasn't already there and doesn't have inside information. He knows that the Skins have pieces in place and a new leader. Snyder and Ron have righted the wrong of the old administration (ie Bruce).
hahahahahahahahaha ..... I'm sorry .... hahahahahahahana
The only way Snyder rights the wrong is if he sells the team
James Dolan and Dan Snyder, name a more iconic duo.
Aww, Newport,
I legged him because irrational optimism in the face of all the facts might just be the best representation of why sports are great
As a fan of a team who was owned by Peter Karmanos, I don't find any fault in your statement
Lol. I'm a lifelong skins fan, just grew up watching them with my grandmother, and even I can't be optimistic. I guess I'll continue to cheer for my fantasy team and the Hokies, because the Skins sure don't get me excited these days.
At least the skins have a championship....
Ahem ... three championships my man.
Obligatory "thanks Joe Gibbs!"
Yea I know that I'm a crazy fanatic for the teams I support (skins, vtfootball, GTownbball, cubs). I just hope the Skins draft Young and then the D will be set....lol...I have no faith in Danny Boy but I do have real faith in Riverboat Ron.....
Legs for all in this sub-thread. We needed the distraction.

That's the bare necessity!
Just waiting on the inevitable Cam Newton to Redskins deal. I'll entertain the notion that Snyder has changed if that doesn't happen.
I would be really nervous about the thought of Cam in DC if not for Snyder's love for Bullis football......π
Win a ring then cash in. Kendall is having a pretty ideal career for a non-HOF type player.
So just a quick look over the CB market and this deal doesn't seem that high.
It's because he had his best season to date in 2017 and played less than 50% of the snaps in KC last year, which were mostly in a safety role. I imagine he'll be moved back to the slot in DC?
17th overall AAV for a CB, if you consider him more of a S it's 13th. That's probably fair for someone who has had injury issues and doesn't profile as a lock-down outside CB.
~$10m/yr isn't bad for someone who missed a lot of time with injuries the last two seasons. He's got life changing money now, but obviously I would have loved for him to get an even more lucrative contract. Fuller family has created generational wealth in spades at this point.
Unless Law School Vinny took a big bite from the funds. But now lawyer Vinny is adding them back.
Law school Vinny also played 6-7 seasons in the league himself so I doubt he took any chunk out of anything.
Hokie Club better get on the horn. The Kendall Fuller Center for Athletic Excellence?
The Kendall Fuller Center for Athletic Excellence and Doing Other Things Good Too*
K. Fuller Institute for Advanced Pass Coverage at the Virginia Tech Defensive Back University has a nice ring to it
If he wanted to be closer to home, would have rather seen him with the Ravens, but good for him for gettin' paid.
yeah, me too. ravens typically sit free agency out and rake in the compensatory picks though
As a Skins fan, this news had me like
In other potential Hokie signing news, since the XFL has had its season suspended, they are allowing all their players to sign with NFL teams right now. Really hoping Cam Phillips can get another shot after absolutely crushing it in those XFL games
That is nice and all, but I am more interested in Edmundi and Fuller boys being born in case college football ever comes back...
quarantine, a whole gaggle of december edmunds and fuller babies all at once, recruiting class of 2038 is our year
If each Edmund/Fuller has more than one son, we will see exponential Edmund/Fuller growth and should be a fully sustainable Edmund/Fuller football team by 2200.
By 2220 we will have to spread Edmunds/Fullers to other scholarship sports and dominate those as well.
By 2230 we will have to open a new university called Virginia Tech University just for developing Fuller/Edmund players and transfer portaling the best ones to VT.
By 2232 we will have no other choice but to transfer our worst Edmunds/Fullers to blue blood programs which will even the landscape of college football and make sports more competitive.
Unless you're a hunter/outdoorsman or you have family there, I don't think Kansas City has too much of a draw geographically. Barbeque would like a word though, I suppose.
Kansas....sucks.
On the other side, they don't call it Misery for nothing.
Now if you're into outdoors stuff, you might find your happy place. Then move to Texas after a year.
Kansas City had a fledgling hip downtown scene when I was there a few years back. Who knows if it was supported enough to stay afloat, but if you wanted a taste of "city life" it could be had.
