Maybe Dabo wont cry this week about not getting his way...
Friday brings us a good game in #13 Iowa State at #17 Texas at noon on ABC.
#2 Notre Dame takes on #19 UNC at 330 also on ABC.
Weird to see MACtion on the weekend, with their normal Tue/Wed specials not on tap this week.
Saturday brings us the 0-5 Penn State Kittens slugging it out with the 2-3 Clawless Wolverines at noon on ABC.
3-0's: Kent State vs Buffalo should be a great dose of MACtion for those interested at noon on CBSSN
#1 Alabama hosts #22 Auburn with Saban calling the game from quarantine, as he had another positive test today.
Thats 330 on CBS
4-0 San Jose State vs 4-1 Boise State at 4 on Fox should be a good one.
The big takeaway for this weekend's games is how many terrible matchups there are, either with a lopsided difference in current records or just two really bad teams playing each other.
What are you looking forward to?
Comments
Saban is calling the game? They have a spot for him to quarantine in the stadium?
No, that was sarcasm, although would any of us be surprised if it happened?
I mean if anyone would clear out the press boxes for some one it would be Bama, however Saban doesn't strike me as the type to force that. He is a process guy, which means Bama is prepared well ahead of the game.
I want something more along these lines.
Hopes for this week:
Come on Cyclones. Please give me something really positive this year. Not sure if a win against Texas locks up a trip to the Big XII Championship Game. Iowa State has 1 conference loss while Oklahoma and Oklahoma State both have 2 if they win out. Everyone else has 3 or more so can't catch ISU. But could be a 3-way tie if ISU loses to WVa, and I am not sure how the tie breaker would work with OK, OKSt and ISU as they would all be 1-1 against each other.
Rarely find myself rooting for Michigan, but would so love to see Penn State keep wearing the big sombrero another week.
Hopefully transfer portal for VT is not as bad as some fear.
HAHAHAHA
Wisconsin game got cancelled again!
HAHAHAHA!!! Suck it Wisconsin!
Also, since I'm in Happy Valley, I'm rooting for Michigan this weekend. I don't like it but it gotta be done. If we are a dumpster fire I have to hope that PSU goes oh-fer this year.
Let's go to the NFL for a moment. Was Corn moonlighting as the Cowboys OC this week?
Also, listening to Mark Sanchez / Captain Butt Fumble critique (I'm laughing) Washington's decision to let a TE throw a pass and how awful it must be to be the Dallas defense. I'm 100% certain he has no knowledge that LT played the majority of his college career behind center.
AND WAS DRAFTED AS A QUARTERBACK AND HAS QUARTERBACK STATS IN THE LEAGUE. Geez, Sanchez.
On the other hand, I had a nice 3rd-and-Logan flashback when LT took a snap and rumbled forward for yards.
It was great to see LT get some good playing time in yesterday against the Cowgirls.
I actually like Dallas enough to root for them most of the time... but there was only one F/football T/team on the field yesterday.
Iowa State 23-20 over Texas with 1:23 to go, can they hold against Texas to make the Big 12 title game.
Has been an entertaining game
That Dicker fg miss was wild. Would've been good from like 63-65, but acted like a cutter...fastball the whole way then just cut left the last 10yds.
Yeah that attempt would have been good from much longer. Glad to see the Cyclones win that one though.
Cyclones!!!!!
Texas with a 57 yard FG attempt to tie at the end. When he first hit it, I thought it was going to be good.
Felt bad for the kicker as he absolutely crushed that ball. Seems like the wind just got enough of it towards the end to pull it just wide because it started out straight as an arrow.
Ryan Day and anOSU having COVID testing issues won't fly to game till Morning and Day out with positive test.
AnOSU Illinois now canceled.
...watching ND-UNC and its a pretty good game so far.
Tony Grimes getting a lot of action. ND is going at him.
Looks like he will be a very good player down the line. He was in good position on both of the times they targeted him on that last drive. Impressive stuff so far imo from a kid who should have been playing on Fridays this fall.
Vanderbilt will be suiting up Sarah Fuller as a kicker for their game this weekend against Missouri. Fuller will become the first woman to dress for a P5 team.
Fuller, a senior, is also starting goalkeeper on the Commodores' soccer team, who won the SEC championship on Sunday, allowing 1 goal per game during the tournament.
Is she any good throwing out of the goal? May use her in the passing game as well. #IKnowNothingOfVandysTeamButVandyTypicallySucksSoIAmSimplyAssumingTheirQBDoesAsWellJoke
I expect nothing less from a fuller
UNC punting with under 5 minutes with their defense was definitely a poor decision.
Wow.
Isn't this the second time in as many weeks that the Seminoles screwed up their gameday execution?
Depends on how you define GameDay execution, you could argue that they've been screwing that up for years.
Not sure how any time have been screw up especially by FSU. Clemson had the symptomatic player practicing and traveling. This time is from the ACC required Friday 3rd party test done.
Wait, like they flew there and then it got cancelled?
Yeah

Indiana's uniforms are ugly.
I think they were going for ugly?
That's where VT screwed up this year, we haven't had a uniform so bad the other team didn't even want to look at us. Much easier to play defense when the QB throws up in his mouth a little every time he sees a defender.
WE'RE NOT GONNA BUST OUT ALL ORANGE EVERYTHING MAN
I was just thinking that PSU is going to get their QB killed and there he goes down. Their line is terrible.
Watched it in slow motion any paused a few times, the Michigan player was twisting his ankle after the play was over.
Big-time derp by Michigan, on that punt catch.
Did you see the punt return coverage Kentucky just had ?
Mike Houston effect taking place at ECU
Beating a dead horse here, but how in the hell are Michigan and Penn State so damn bad?
Because the world wanted to do us all a favor for once
Really want to see Sarah Fuller kick for Vandy and got tricked into watching Vanderbilt try to play football. Ho boy is this offense bad. I think they've crossed midfield once, then immediately took a false start and a delay of game - so they've yet to run a play in opposing territory.
Same. Vandy is bad at football
I was going to watch it to see her kick as well but they didn't kick off in the first half and didn't get anywhere near field goal range.
I figure if she gets a chance to kick the highlight will be shown immediately on any other game. I saw her kickoff.
Ignore some of the bad faith coverage, and check it out here.
I wish they would have just let her rip it
Yeah now it has to be a nuanced explanation for all the casually interested for her but not football fans
Vandy's best execution came from a player that has been on the team for what a week? Talk about player developer, or what ever the opposite of that is.
Fu-ball
So she didn't even get a chance to kick a field goal? That sucks
Yeah doesn't seem like Vandy even got within FG range and they didn't score any TDs either so it was just the one kickoff to start the second half for her.
They crossed the 50 yard line 3 times maybe. First time, two penalties set them back and they punted from their side of the field. Second time they fumbled on like the 45 yard line. Third time they got to about the 40 yard line, and ran a terrible shovel pass that lost yards on 4th down.
Honestly some of the worst football I've watched all year, and that's saying something...
Caught the last little bit of Gameday where they were showing her warming up. Not trying to be disparaging to her because I have no doubt she could outkick my sorry ass any and every day of the week 1,000% of the time...but there was no way they were going to trot her out there for anything over a PAT (and that's what they showed her kicking).
According to the play by play they got to like the 33 yard line or something. I say let her rip. Is Vandy going to have another kicker next week? The lost by all the points. They scored zero. Throw caution to the wind!
Her kicks were just fine from farther out.
Well then...I place blame on...David Pollack.
That's fair.
this is the worst for her. Why squib it to start the half??? What other game have you seen a team open the half with a squib.
Would have liked to have seen her boot it. A shame b/c I've seen other posts saying she sucks b/c of the kick and now it's denigrated b/c of this call. Let her boot it. If she sucks then she sucks. But you let her on the team for a reason so let her boot it. Garbage call. But it's Vandy so whatever I guess.
Yeah that sucked. Let her rip
I have to disagree. Kickoffs are the plays most likely to generate serious injuries, and she hasn't practiced anything related to coverage and I doubt that she's adept at tackling. The squib kick was smart. Make it non-returnable so Vandy isn't essentially down a player on the return (note how she kicked and immediately ran off, no doubt by design), keep everyone safe, and minimize damage. If people hate on her on Twitter, they're morons.
Yeah I agree with that a bunch. It's not like she practiced for more than a day or two, and they gave up 340 yards in the first half. There are much bigger coaching problems than squibing it for no return against a team you've shown little interest in tackling so far.
Leg. Disagree.
Kick it as hard as you can. Play the play. Keepers can f*ck people up when they need to. I don't fear on her behalf and I'mma be daggone if I'ma try to be all paternal about her safety.
I bet on a regular kick off coverage play she could have been just as effective as the kicker from Vanderbilt. Maybe she woulda got run by like all the other kickers. Maybe she coulda tripped someone up if they tried to run by her. Maybe she woulda jacked up some rando kick returner.
I would have LOVED to see her jump into it.
She has been with the team for all of about 3 days, she's never played football before so she probably doesn't know proper tackling form, and she just helped her team win the SEC championship and have the NCAA tournament to come. You think either the football coach or soccer coach want to risk her getting hurt?!?! Just watch one of her soccer games if you need convincing she has a boot
I am so sick of this stupid mazda commercial with the snowman. This song is terrible and they play this commercial at every single break.
Though I am not yet tired of hearing Charles Woodson yelling at Baker Mayfield that he's going to screw up at parallel parking.
The Chick fil a ads are the worst
Well there's the one with the golden retriever. I like that one.
The guy whose favorite thing about the peppermint shake is that is available is a loser. So is the woman who is passionate about chicken nuggets. Or was it mac and cheese. Either one.
Real shame PSU got a win here but it means Harbaugh is likely gone.
Wow Syracuse spiking the ball on fourth down. Wow, one of the dumbest moments in football history. Talk about no clue on situational awareness.
They are dreadful.....
Woof, Kenny Pickett with three picks halfway through the first quarter
Looks like Lawrence and the rest of the first teamers will be well rested next week.
Do we REALLY have to play this Clemson team??? Time to make up some rona infections, stat
Clemson gonna hang a bazillion on Pitt. How high does hokievision go?
UVA FSU game cancelled I just read in Roanoke Times.
Edit: Postponed. Team was already in Tallahassee. Covid issues for FSU.
So lolUVA has three postponed games to finish the season starting with us on 12/12, so 12/19 and 12/26 for the other two?
Likely will only play two of the three
Pitt afraid to catch the ball and get hit. Time to find another game.
Lol, only now is it time to find another game?
Yeah, turned that one off way before 38-10
So Pitt is getting worked by Clemson a week after kicking our butts up and down the field. Next week is not going to be pleasant. 😱😥🤦♂️😳
It would be very on brand for us to inexplicably keep that game close for a half.
The most competitive game in this time slot is the EGG BOWL, so if you want a close one switch over to the SEC Network.
The Iron Bowl has been fun to watch for me... because I do not like Auburn. Though generally this is one of the more fun games in any given year.
So very MACtion of Buffalo to hang 70 on Kent State in the battle of two 3-0 teams.
The Buffalo running back went off for 8 tds and 409 yards on 36 carries.
ESPN was saying that he was close to all the records but they took him out
Needed 18 yards to break the yards in a game record and tied the touchdown record.
Totally dumb. Should have handed it to him
Northwestern losing to MSU 23-20 right now on ESPN, 3:35 left.
Watching this now. Big Ten sucks this year.
Wow, goes to show how much I've been paying attention to CFB this season. I had zero idea Northwestern was ranked #8 going into this game. (Not that rankings mean a whole lot in this crazy season)
Rutgers going to beat Purdue, they should have beaten Michigan but bad play calling in OT kept them from doing it.
So LSU is going to go from NC to 3 wins?
God damn, Nate Robinson got knocked the fuck out. Lmfaoo
