Welcome to another year of me trying to find every Hokie on a professional football contract. I will try to find every roster move in NFL as best I can. As always if you see a roster move please add a comment with it. I will not be doing any CFL or arena league anymore. It's really frustrating and time-consuming feel free to add them in the comments for others if you wish.

Is the Bucky Hodges a typo? Perhaps you meant Logan Thomas?
Yep
The only difference is the lack of a GODS GIFT tattoo I'm pretty sure
No LT didn't seem to fall after every catch he made yesterday
Not a lot of Hokies left in the NFL. We need to start replenishing.
Caleb Farley has entered the chat
I have actually seen him projected top 10 in a few mocks. If so his decision to sit out is that much more of a good idea to protect his body
Duane Brown sighting in the Seahawks game
Who would've bet our longest running NFL player was an OL from the Stiney years?
LT missed a block in a huge way a few minutes ago on an option play.
Isaiah Ford getting a few targets but not really any catchable balls yet
Logan Thomas sighting in the endzone
Great to see him get some points on the board!
Wide Open!!!
I hate that, whatever they're calling themselves now, have so many Hokies. I want to root for them, but I can't root for anything good for that team as a Cowboys fan.
As an Eagles fan, I share your sentiments.
As a WTF fan whose team hasn't won in forever, I don't know how to win so...
Fellow Boys fan. I fully agree. I cheer the players and boo the team. I am all for Hokie success but hope the team they play for fails miserably...
I was amused at the Fox pregame at the dig to that team. "I can't believe they are still using that offensive name."
"They actually are 'The Washington Football Team' now."
"I know. I am offended that they are calling themselves a football team."
Chuck Clark dropped an INT for the Ravens, otherwise, having a quiet day.
Wyatt Teller doing okay on run plays for the Browns, but these blitzes are not great for that entire O line.
Slye having a solid day as well.
Slye needs to stop missing gimmes. Dude can hit from 50 but misses xps like I've never seen. I didn't watch today so maybe it wasn't his fault but he's gotta make the chip shots.

Guys let's take play by play and game commentary over here. Use this thread for signings, injuries, cuts etc just related to Hokies on NFL roster changes. Thanks. It really helps me keep track of the rosters.
Potential typo for Keene Dalton on the Patriots.
Edit: fixed
Isn't Cam on the Panthers? I thought I saw that somewhere, did he get released already?
Yep cut. With no preseason games and early cutdowns there are only a handful of new UDFA on any active rosters across the entire NFL.
Well damn. I was rooting for him to stick to the roster and make a name for himself at the NFL level.
When injuries inevitably happen he'll get at least a practice squad shot.
Prayers up for Tyrod:
https://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2020/09/20/tyrod-taylor-is-release...
SparkNotes anyone? I tried to listen to this, but hearing him repeat "again, I have no insider information" 17 different ways was mind numbing.
They gave him a shot so he could play
He had an allergic reaction
On the Thursday night game, Wyatt Teller got a couple shoutouts for the Browns in their win.
Isaiah Ford hauled in 7 catches for 79 yards against the Bills; he seems to be finding his place on the depth chart on the Dolphins.
Logan Thomas (WTF) caught 4 passes for 26 yards, Tim Settle had a couple of tackles, and Greg Stroman returned a punt (for one yard lol).
Terrell Edmunds (PIT) had 4 tackles and a sack against Denver.
Kyle Fuller (CHI) racked up 5 tackles in a win over the Giants.
Chuck Clark (BAL) made 6 tackles and a sack in a win over the Texans.
Joey Slye (CAR) is 4-4 on field goals in the first two games of the season.
Probably missing some!
Haha, I feel like the Lane Stadium videoboard doing the "Hokies in the NFL" section during home games.
Hey, if we're not gonna be in Lane this year, someone's gotta keep everyone updated, right?
Awesome, thanks for putting this together!
There were Duane Brown sightings in Seattle.
That sack from Edmunds ended the game essentially.
kyle fuller was shutting down his guy all game as well. Lots of shoutouts from the announcers
Schefter reporting that T-mobile was stabbed in the lungs by the team doctor who was trying to administer a pain killer shot for cracked ribs. Oof
And now out for an extended time. I thought it was weird that he had to be rushed to the hospital right before the game. He can't catch a break right now.
Now saying he is out indefinitely because of this. I smell a lawsuit.
Tyrod is now the new owner of the LA Chargers. WOooo!!!
it's not clear if the lung was punctured by the needle or if it was punctured by the cracked rib, just that the lung was punctured when the injection was administered
Is that good?
A score above 90 is "Elite" I think. 75 is average if I remember correctly, anything below 60 is bad and getting worse.
Dude is gonna get paid next offseason
Sadly, the tweet is incorrect. Teller doesn't sandwich people, he ๐ฅ PANCAKES them.
I'm sure you can find somewhere on the internet where some troll argues that a pancake really is a sandwich
Two pancakes around some sausage and bacon sounds like a pretty damn good sandwich.
well now i need this for dinner
A pancake with syrup is just an open-faced sandwich. /s
Get well soon TT.

Ford to the Patriots. Not sure how that helps him.
to answer your sort-of-question, it helps him by putting him on a team where his competition for snaps is "Damiere Byrd", "Jakobi Meyers", "Gunner Olzewski", and "N'Keal Harry". Only Byrd has even 20 catches this year
I'm still surprised the Patriots blew a first round pick on Harry. Very uncharacteristic of them.
Their drafting has largely been awful for years fwiw
Yup they have not done well drafting offensive players the last few years hence why the WR corp is in rough shape. Ford will be a much needed injection of something to give them possibly one more atleast talented WR.
They just need to find a scrappy Wes Welker type player. First in, last out kind of guy. Real cerebral player, maybe a coach's son.
Have you seen the Pats offense it's pretty bad.
Their main problem, imo, is not enough Dalton Keene
There was an interesting interview with the Pat's Coach. He admitted they sold out to win 3 superbowls and their contracts reflected that and that the rebuild has finally hit. It also didn't help that they had more players opt-out than any other team and those were some of the big contract big impact players. They also opted out in August and before the opt out they were incredibly tight on the cap. Once the opt out personnel cap room was opened, the good players were already gone from free agency.
That's a good point as well their defense was heavily hit hard by players like hightower not playing they will have some tough choices this off-season. Selling out for three super bowls isn't a bad trade off in reality though
How many teams wouldn't sell out to win 3 superbowls in what 5-6 years? They are looking at an ugly situation this year with more than 27 million in dead money on players no longer on the team.
With Edelman out for probably the season, there is PT available in the slot. Plus, he gets to join Dalton Keene.
edit: wow 39 seconds good on you HF
Also changed the graph at the top.
HF right now:

Fun little article about Ford and the respect he has from teammates in Miami.
Ford article
Patriots putting Asiasi on IR leaving Keene as 1 of the only 2 TEs on the team now.
chuck clark with a scoop and score against the colts today.
He didn't even try to go around Philip rivers either.
That is hilarious!
Rivers makes Daniel Jones look like Baryshnikov
Slye had a shot to set the long distance fg record, shanked it badly though
Notice how the opposing coach didnt try to ice the kicker or make sure he had the right personnel on the field for Slye's 67 yard attempt?
Can we not in the players thread please.
Lol can you not at all
Sorry I'm trying to keep this thread limited to news about Tech players and their spots on NFL rosters. Trying to keep the noise to the 15 other threads we have. But sure go off.
I predict Logan Thomas will take snaps under center in Washington this year
https://www.thekeyplay.com/content/2020/september/13/nfl-2020-football-s...
Please use the other thread for gameday talk.
What about for when we are talking about Hokies in the NFL?
Other thread. In non covid years there is so much movement of players this thread was getting to be too long for me to keep up with any Tech players being injured or dropped. It just makes it easier to use this thread only for player news. Other thread being about their individual games.
Horrible bad luck. Hope he gets better soon
It's odd that they would add him as a running back because he always should have been a linebacker.
Isaiah Ford with Hokie luck in the NFL, gets traded to the Patriots now that they are terrible. Leaves a Miami team that is going to reach the playoffs for the first time in forever and just had the guy in front of Ford go down with a season ending injury.
remind me to pick up LT for my fantasy team next week.....................
Logan Thomas. Hall of Fame
quarterbackTight End.Don't know if this has already been posted but our boy Kam is in a Tostitos commercial:
Love that he's getting that Tostitos money but damn if I don't get just a twinge of sadness when he says "We don't get to play but we can watch it". Stupid injuries. It ain't fair man. Some real dirtbags play for years and years yet a class act like Kam gets cut short. At least he got that ring (should have been SB MVP).
Joey ๐ญ๐ญ๐ญ missed a game-winning 54 yard attempt
Panthers can't help but put Joey in a last second 50+ situation
In this Wednesday afternoon Sunday Night football game, Chuck Clark has already had a nice tackle for a stop. Still waiting for one of the Edmundi to get their names called.
This was actually Thursday night football which became Sunday Night Football which for a moment was Tuesday Night Football and then Wednesday Afternoon Football because the NFL couldn't bump the lighting of a Christmas Tree
Technically it started as a Special Thursday Edition of Sunday Night Football which became Sunday Afternoon Football...and then Tuesday/Wednesday.
and a heady football play by rell to boot
this thread is for roster updates. Please keep discussion of specific games in the Discussion Thread or the mods will get after you.
I missed this from Thanksgiving.
trey edmunds is the ultimate #54 on the roster.
snip snap snip snap
Moved to NFL game discussion
Isaiah Ford cut by the Patriots yesterday. Hopefully, the Dolphins bring him back
So Patriots made moves with two Hokies Ford gets released and Dalton Keene gets activated off of IR. The Dolphins then signed Ford to their practice squad.
They need to activate Ford. The Dolphins receiving corps is as thin as any in the NFL.
LT was on the junkies this morning, good listen. Did not realize he had 5 sons, Hokies gonna have a lot of TEs in the future...
I'll have to listen to that on the podcast replay
Why does he have to one-up the Fullers? I'm not complaining if they play for VT, mind you...
probably trying to one up fifthfuller
I believe the older three are his step sons.
Dalton keene sighting early looks like jersey number 42 he lined up as a receiver on third down
Ford has been moved to active roster foe the Dolphins.
Tavante Beckett going to the NFL, figured it didnt need its own thread but good to share somewhere to keep an eye on for next year and the upcoming draft cycle
Tim Settle had this in his IG story. Thought that was kinda interesting since I haven't seen him post a lot of other VT stuff
Edit: he just posted about Tremaine making the pro bowl
Great article in WaPo on Logan. You should get 3 free reads a month so technically not behind a paywall (unless you used up your 3 free articles).
https://www.washingtonpost.com/sports/2020/12/21/logan-thomas-washington...
Does he end up under center this week with all the Haskins strip club nonsense going on? Other two QBs have about zero pro experience.
The WFT doesn't have the guts to suspend him. Which is why they have sucked for 25 years.
I bet Snyder is probably happy about the Haskins fiasco. Takes some attention away from the 1.6 million they just paid out to settle his sexual misconduct problem.
That is actually what they paid out in 2009. Washington Post is just now posting the story about it.
Because it was under NDA but a #sauce just now leaked the settlement details
At what point do you just bench haskins and put LT in at QB
Three possessions ago....
Benched Haskins and the backup was ODU grad Taylor Heinicke. Was anyone else watching when they incorrectly said he was the QB that beat VT and "help put the Monarchs on the map"?
1. That wasn't even the QB that beat VT. That dude forewent his senior year to go to seminary school
2. C'mon CBS- Why you gotta hurt my feelings like that when I'm watching NFL games
3. We gotta be out of "put on the map" cards by now no matter who we lose to going forward right? You can only be make-a-wish U for so long
Nope. The QB that put 700 yards on VT's defense was a walk on seminary candidate that did not win any other starts of note. Great job by Fuente
Yeah I informed my son that CBS was wrong on that statement also. I had to look the actual QB up but I knew that Heinicke was long gone when we imploded in Norfolk...
The Ringer says Caleb Farley (12 overall) is the best DB prospect in the draft.
https://nfldraft.theringer.com/caleb-farley
They've also got Derrishaw rated 16 overall
I've seen Caleb ranked from 1st DB to 4th. As high as #4/5 and as low as around #20.... I personally would take Caleb over the others based off ability, speed and measurables...
I haven't studied the eligible CB's in depth, but there are always surprises on draft night as teams fall in love with measurables, and reputation, etc. TCU has been a below .500 team the past several years, but their players are all over the first and second rounds or the NFL draft. If LSU has an under the radar CB in the draft, or Bama has a 2nd string CB in the draft, Farley might not want to put a down payment on a lambo until he sees where he finally goes.
Farley will likely be the one they all fall in love with over height, speed, and measurables. His biggest competition for first CB off the board will be Patrick Surtain II from Bama who has a higher floor and NFL pedigree from his pro bowl CB father.
Farley's appeal is that he likely has the highest ceiling of all the CB prospects because of his rare hip fluidity and quickness at that size, but he's certainly the riskier option based on playing CB for only two years of his career.
I would be shocked if Farley was taken any lower than the 2nd CB off the board, and that's with as an objective POV as I can muster as a VT fan.
Well if that isn't bad ass. Talk about a career.
Some people are just a cut above.
Don't want to run from him. Can you imagine the pain from that tackle.
Anybody know what Vince Hall is up to. Maybe he's also law enforcement.
If that were the case, you would not want 9-11 called on you
I never really had an NFL team that I was die-hard about growing up, but I actively disliked the team from DC as a kid, don't know why. Over the past few seasons, they've started to grow on me, I guess maybe cause they seem to like picking up us Hokies. Anyways, went to the NFL shop website today to see about maybe grabbing a jersey of one of our guys, and I'll be damned....the only men's jersey you can right now is Dwayne Haskins Jr...at least it's marked down to $60
https://www.insidenova.com/sports/prince_william/stonewall-jackson-gradu...
Nice. Guess I will be watching the Alouettes games when they start up in June.
Tyrod to the Texans baby! Shitty management but him and a fuller could work some offensive magic!
What the hell is houston doing? This move makes no sense to me with the watson situation
I think he'll have a good chance to play because I feel like Watson is willing to sit out the year. But I'm still disappointed its a team that's going nowhere. I felt like the best place for him would have been WFT but they chose to ride that FitzMagic roller coaster instead.
With the Pats signing both Hunter Henry and Jonnu Smith, I'm a little worried for Dalton Keene's spot on the team. He spent most of last year hurt and even when he was available, they still didn't use him much.
