No win requirements for bowl game eligibility this season.

So this means if Tech wants to it already has bowl streak to 28 years already.

So could a team hypothetically host its own bowl game as a fundraiser?

Fuente keeps the bowl streak alive!

What if we go 1-0 and end up in the orange bowl!

Just put a huge asterisk next to this season right now and get it over with

I guess we will see who the bowls really like.

Whatever. It was one bad year.

Seasonal Brew means High ABV for football season and standard the rest of the year.

So the streak will survive...

I can imagine no more rewarding a career. And any man who may be asked in this century what he did to make his life worthwhile, I think can respond with a good deal of pride and satisfaction:

At this point can we just make every game a friendly scrimmage (except UVA of course)? Just play for fun and take the seriousness out of it all. This season is just like Whose Line is it Anyway where the points are made up and the score doesn't matter.

I want to see O-linemen coming in as tight-ends. Trick play hijinks a minimum of every other possession. I want to see Harlem Globetrotter pranking where the mascot gets involved. Suit up a dog and go full on Gridiron Bud. Deliberately run up the score - just to end in a tie. Let's stamp a giant asterisk across the whole season and have some fun.

Huh, loluva does have pull.

Can't wait to see this winless Rutgers vs Kansas bowl game.

47 punts, 11 turn overs, 9 total points.

All 9 points scored in Overtime

Directions from Blacksburg to whoville, go north till you smell it then go east until you step in it

i'm gonna chime in as the wet blanket and point out that we don't know how many bowls will actually bother with a game. would not be at all surprised to see a lot of lower-tier bowls decide it's not worth it financially and pack it in till next year. There could conceivably be a very small number of bowls to fight over.

All the more reason to host our own "Blacksburg Bowl" to keep the streak alive or just take the asterix for the season like so many other FBS schools in conferences that shut it down.

Except there's a fairly long approval process, you can't just conjure up a bowl game a month before it's supposed to be played.

This is 2020. I say we give it a shot anyway. Invite a team, drum up publicity, and dare the NCAA to do shit about it.

I was thinking the same thing.... Non-new year's 6 bowls already had a hard enough time selling out (even the non-playoff new-years 6 have a major challenge) - a socially distanced / limited crowd bowl from a financial standpoint would be a huge financial lose I would l think.

I would have to imagine that most bowls get the majority of their revenue from TV money and advertising, considering how few tickets get sold to most of the games. I expect that most of them will decrease their per-team payouts a bit to make it through this season, just to stay in business for next year.

Yeah the bowls make money, the schools lose money going to bowls half the time.

At least this year there shouldn't be a problem with mandatory ticket allocations, as people can't really attend anyway.

I can't wait for the reaction when LOLUVA goes .500 and doesn't go to a bowl in a year when everyone is eligible.

Take the shortest route to the ball and arrive in bad humor.

Let's be honest here. You know what those arrogant bastards really think.

Was going to comment about UVA living rent free in your head but then I saw your username and remembered where you live.
