Hokies WBB Adds All-Atlantic Sun Sharpshooter Emily Lytle

It was a good week for Kenny Brooks and staff. Last Friday, the Virginia Tech women's basketball team signed Purdue star Kayana Traylor. This Friday, they got another pledge out of the transfer portal in 5'11" G/F Emily Lytle.

Lytle was the Lady Flames' leading scorer in two of her last three seasons (12.4 as a r-sophomore, 14.7 as a r-senior), tied the Liberty single-season record for 3-pointers (64) which had stood since the 1989-90 season, and earned first-team All-Atlantic Sun Conference honors.

Emily joins a deep Tech squad who returns all 5 starters from last season including two All-ACC stars (Elizabeth Kitley and Aisha Sheppard). Her story is the latest in a busy offseason that's seen the Hokies improve their depth at center (6'5" WVU transfer and Stafford, VA native Rochelle Norris), add help off the bench for workhorse Georgia Amoore (Traylor), and sign two talented 2021 guards (Brianna Turnage and Destiney McPhaul). With the addition of sharpshooting Emily Lytle, Virginia Tech's roster will include five players who averaged double figures in points last season (Kitley, Sheppard, Amoore, Traylor, and Lytle).
