Pretty impressive results in landing so many of the coaches first string recruits - key is getting guys you target who are the most talented and best fit. This year is exactly what they are aiming for and this is a major get - go J Ham and Ryan Smith - AGAIN. Awesome

Totally agree - I still say this year will have the most rating changes of any year on record due to the obvious old/limited assessments driving the ratings.

When I watch his highlights it seems that he has very odd footwork and throwing motion. Is that something that's pretty standard for high school QBs that traditionally gets coached to them at the higher level?
I should clarify that I have no expertise on QB footwork/throwing so it's just my uneducated observation.

love love love this get -- direct, head-to-head recruiting win over a team we see on the field every year (BC) who threw their best recruiter in Aazar Abdul-Rahim at him. Just last cycle, AAR closed on bringing to BC 0.9250 rated 4* DB Clint Burton Jr who was hs teammates with Cam Johnson at St Frances Academy. AAR formerly coached at Maryland and his recruiting history shows a really strong track record of closing on talent in the DC/Baltimore area [link]
This is incredibly encouraging to me, because as much as it's great to pull in a 4* DB, it's even better to see Ryan Smith listed as Cam Johnson's primary recruiter. It's a major major win head-to-head for him against a really good recruiter who has years of experience and a ton of connections in that area. Smitty is now listed as the primary recruiter for Cam Johnson, Ramon Brown, Rashaud Pernell, and Bryce Duke in this cycle, as well as DJ Harvey, Jaylon Jones, and DJ Sims (flipped from Wake) in the last cycle.

Smitty and JHam are stars in the making. I expect both to have long P5 coaching careers with an upward trajectory. They are the two most important coaches on the staff if Fuente is going to elevate VT recruiting to what we all expect it to be.

Really good commitment video. Also, this recruiting class is something else for sure.
No lie on the video...
Welcome to the Hokies Nation!
That video was legit.
Players named Cam (or Kam) are always a good thing... especially on D.
Or offense.... lol
True!
DBU!!!
Welcome to Hokie Nation, Cam!
Big recruiting win for Tech. Getting big DMV talent will go a long way towards getting us where we want to be.
My happy dance right now

Oh hell to the yes!
Welcome to DBU, Cam!!!
Great news! Xavier Simmons flipped to Mizzou today but overall a good class. Wish we could land an elite QB
Alex Orji should be a 4*. He is really fucking good.
If he has any kind of decent season I imagine he will be a 4* by the end of it.

Another 4 star?! I seriously don't know how to process this great news!!
Lol I only watched the first 20 seconds of the video and it's already higher quality than anything VT has produced in years, let's go hire that guy
Also yay #DBU
LETS FUCKING GO!!!!!!!!
HOKIES!!!!!!!
So glad he chose the Hokies!!!! Welcome and do great things, Cam!
LET'S GO!!!!!!
HOKIES!
Love getting highly rated DBs! Hope the staff keeps up the momentum!
Go Hokies!!!
HUBBA HUBBA!
Cam I get a hell ya?!?
Hell yes ! Welcome !
The last CB we had that wore #3 was drafted in the 1st round, let's keep it going with Cam!
FAM! rhymes with CAM!
That's so weird, because CAM also rhymes with BOOM.
And BAM!!!
...and Cam anagrams to "Bad Ass DB taking us to championship heights"
In all seriousness, because that's what we do here, Cam Johnson anagrams to...
Conman Josh
Mas Con John
... and many more less impressive anagrams
This was not as exciting as I was hoping it would be
Mac Johnson
Secondary recruiting really picking up. Where it needs to be. Kudos on landing this one. Some young studs in that defensive backfield.

there's something very appropriate about good DB recruiting news coming from *checks notes* Clone-A-Fuller
A Maryland DB too
