IT'S FOOTBALL SEASON!!!! and that can only mean one thing:

My bourbon crate has been ordered and my doc has approved increasing my blood pressure prescription dosage! Let's get into it!

This is Preseason week because I decided to do this thing...24 hours ago. Strong start.

Also there are only 5 games this week to pick from SO we're gonna have a trial run to help get everyone acclimated to betting against the spread.

Now, like the past couple of years I'm going to use the resources available to me (aka cheat) and host this on cbssports.com.

Nebraska at Illinois (Nebraska -7.5) 1:00 PM Eastern
So Nebraska, a traditional powerhouse with National Championships galore in its heyday is just a hair over a TD favorite against Illinois, a team whose best record in the past 7 years is 6-7. That's gotta hurt.

UConn at Fresno (Fresno -27.5) 2:00 PM Eastern
Vegas expects this to be a dogfight equivalent of Iceman's F-14 vs. Snoopy on his doghouse. Woof.

Hawaii at UCLA (UCLA -17.5) 3:30 PM Eastern
Usually this game would be only for those of us with insomnia, infants that wake us up at ungodly hours, and Fernley.

UTEP at New Mexico State (UTEP -10.5) 9:30 PM Eastern
These are 2 historically horrendous programs putting on their Sock'Em Boppers week 1 to see who can give their fanbase some early false hope. I'll say this, when I watch one of these games I am usually fantastically entertained.

Southern Utah at San Jose State (San Jose State -23.5) 10:00 PM Eastern
WHO?! The Southern Utah Thunderbirds don't have an entry on sports-reference.com but they do have a kickass name and logo

So they got that going for them.

Wife n i camped in Townsend, tn last week. LOTS of bear activity including 2 ft distance close ups in our camp site. Fun times. Hope u got to get out to the national park some.
