Who?

Damn, shows how close I've been following the past couple years. I swear I've never heard this name before.

Not sure why you are being downvoted. The name doesn't ring a bell for me, either. Turns out he was only here for one year (transferred from Vanderbilt).

2026 Season Challenge: TBD
Previous Challenges: Star Wars (2019), Marvel (2020), Batman (2021), Wrasslin' (2022)

He had like 70 some Tackles this season its not like he didn't play he was a pretty crucial part of the defense for a good portion of the season.

(add if applicable) /s

Yeah I don't want to minimize his contribution and wish him well in the draft. I just watched zero minutes of Hokie football this season so if he was only in the program for a year that explains it.

We will miss him, probably the best tackler on our d. Actually one of the few that can drop a ball carrier in his tracks. Artis being the other heavy hitter on the team. Good luck in the draft

Go get em Tae!

Wish Tae all the best, he was our most consistent DB this year.... don't think we would have made a bowl game without him.

Wasn't he the one that batted down the pass in the endzone against UVA?

I think that was Strong

Never Forget #1 Overall Seed UVA 54, #64 UMBC 74

Even so, Daley had 9 tackles (6 solo), 2 pbus, and a pick in that game.

Strong took down the OLReceiver. Daley broke up the pass in the end zone with 30 seconds left in the game.

A decade on TKP and it's been time well spent.

I thought Tae was also with us last year, but guess that would not have counted towards his eligability. Probably his strongest suit is as a good, run-stopping DB, but his pass defense may need some work. Seems to have the size and tools to make it as a SS at the next level, but probably needs a strong Combine or Pro Day performance to get drafted, although I could be wrong about that.

I thought he was out of eligibility already, best of luck to you Tae, thanks for your contributions this year!

1-0 every week

He was their best defensive player the last four regular season games. Can't question his effort and commitment, despite being jerked around at times with the playing time rotation despite clearly being the best option at both safety spots. Both he and Artis got a raw deal at times this year.

Five star get after it 100 percent Juice Key-Playing. MAN

Yeah, not sure about eligibility, but Artis deserves a year with the new staff.

Keshon has 2 years left!

I fee like Artis always played well when he got burn. Dude definitely looks the part and lays his shoulder into hits.

Best of luck to him and many thanks for what he gave VT football this year.

I said during the game... "i really hope Daley sticks around one more year."

I take blame.

You will see this game, this upset and this sign next on ESPN Sportscenter. Virginia Tech 31 Miami 7

His decision was made after a phone call with longtime Virginia Tech assistant coach Bud Foster. All Foster told him was, "We win. They don't."

I keep forgetting that almost everyone can come back because of the wonky COVID eligibility thing, so I never even considered Daley's return an option.

Really solid player, he will get a shot at the League. Best of luck to him

Plan for the worst and hope for the best, not the other way around.

/s ... kinda

It felt to me like Daley really upped his game when he came back after sitting out for the targeting call later in the the season. He did the number 17 proud. I really hate to see him go, but other than RB this part of the team probably had the most depth.

The transfer portal is making it really hard to connect with players. Generally, before all of this, by the time the player graduates or declares for the draft, we've had a chance to get to know them over the course of multiple seasons.

It's not a slight to the player. After all, it's hard to remember the names of true freshman. By the 2nd season they are pretty much well known by fans.

The transfer portal makes it hard to keep track (unless we are talking about a QB)
