What we do in life, echoes in eternity

T Gray likely heading to USCe to join Shane's staff.

Gotta clear out some bedrooms if you want him to come home. Unfortunately, the land lord isn't evicting anyone despite most of the tenants not being able to pay rent.

Tyrod did it Mikey, Tyrod did it!!

21st century QBs Undefeated vs UVA:
MV7, MV5, LT3, Grant Wells, Braxton Burmeister, Ryan Willis, Josh Jackson, Jerod Evans, Michael Brewer, Tyrod Taylor, Sean Glennon, and Grant Noel. That's right, UVA. You couldn't beat Grant Noel.

I think Ryan Smith has a bright future. Would be cool to have him back but in what capacity?

Hahaha but keeping Grantham? Insert "bold move cotton" gif here

Clearly Mullen and Grantham are part of the spaghetti party. Gray is well respected and will find a home. Without the spaghetti party.

LOLUVa offered him the day after he committed to Florida...DERP!

I would really like to hire tortuous greasy because autocorrect on this tablet won't let me type Gray actual name. With Hamilton being dc I'm sure we could handle having a secondary coach...

Since our payscale is nowhere near what it would take to get him back to Tech, I wouldn't count on seeing him in Blacksburg unless he's on an opposing team. And since teams that can afford him don't come to Blacksburg...

We could afford Gray. He's out of a job, so we have negotiating power. The problem is we don't have a spot on this staff for him, and I'm not sure he'd want to return to bburg and/or work for Fuente.

Torrian has to many options, he could go NFL, or as mentioned above USC needs some coaches and he knows the HC. Torrian was making more than Corn, its a severe pay cut to come to VT and that was the rumor why he left in the first place.

Gray isn't coming to VT to work for the coach that walked in the door and cut Gray's salary.

Define paycut. He was asked to become the CB coach after being the secondary coach (CB + Safties). Seems like he was asked to do half the work for 85% of what he was making before.

I think a lot of us would take that deal.

That isn't just a pay cut, that is a demotion.

I have to wonder why he is STILL a db coach. Does he not want to step up or does he not have what it takes?

Very good chance he would have been our DC or Co-DC if we went with Bud as HC. Other than that I can't answer the question without knowing him personally. High end position coaches make great money, and if you're good at that job I could see it being easy to keep doing it until the right opportunity opens up OR you decide you're content at that level.

Maybe he enjoys coaching DB's, feels like he's good at it, and doesn't want to run an entire defense when the money is just fine where he is now.

VTCC '86 Delta Co., Peru Hokie, Former Naval Aviator, Former FBISA, Forever married to my VT87 girl. Go VT!

Could this news possibly open a door with Donovan McMillon? I know he's already signed but I imagine he could get released from his LOI with the release of his position coach. His recruitment came down to VT and UF.

NCAA would find some reason to block it if he tried to go to VT.

With the Vandy grad + him and Strong, would be an impressive way to restock the back end. Would be a huge win for Hamilton.
