Good. We need some experienced LB depth...or any depth, for that matter.
Expecting big things, I think he can be a warlord for us.
A real freak! ....to steal one from 11 Warriors.
Emphasis on height but not weight, in need to some hilgardification?
Maybe, but I wouldn't read too much into it.
Does the hilgartrification actually make us better or does it just provide fun pictures for Twitter? I don't have hard data, but I don't think our S&C program is any better than it was under Beamer and potentially worse.
In an albeit limited sample size, it appears that we have fewer long-term injuries across the board.
But our defense struggles with finishing tackles and getting off blocks. Is that a coaching issue or a strength issue?
Since I don't have the data, you might be right. However, from my memory, I would not say this is true. My perception might be skewed because Beamer's years seem very long ago, but I've not been impressed with our current S&C department. Fielding a successful team involves all coaches and staff and I think we can do better.
This staff coaches experienced players better. They understand what it takes to prepare, which doesn't get Fu pissed at them and in the dog house. This is good news- as would be any experienced guy that can play.
Chatter around his talent and athleticism has been mostly positive. Seems like we may have gotten a steal with this one, and we definitely need it. Lots of new bodies in that LB room, but this year and next year we need depth (or a potential starter).
Didn't he not play at Marshall?
So the story (which I've gathered from second-hand sources) is McCray was an academic non-qualifier and was forced to redshirt his first year at Marshall. Spent last year getting his shit together academically and on the football field. Apparently, he was one of Marshall's best players in practice day-in and day-out.
Getting JC Price into the fold gave us the inside track on McCray before the rest of the world found out about his potential.
So we got the Randy Moss of linebackers? I'll take that every day of the week.
Well hopefully without the moodiness and drug shenanigans...
@LB??? I'll take the moodiness. It leads to anger. I want LB's meeting RBs in the hole with anger.
Not sure if we want a LB with anger issues...
Yeeeesssssh!
