In today's VT corps of cadets? I highly doubt he got in trouble. They wear bandanas in uniform now, have an official dog mascot they play with, for a couple years they had VTCC 'cheer leaders" etc. I doubt that dancing on ESPN would get a recent cadet in "trouble" at all.
IIRC, the camera crew went to him a few times the next game, and all he did was pop to with a crisp salute. So I assume he received some sort of "corrective guidance" in the intervening week.
Does that equate to "huge trouble"? That's probably in the eye of the beholder - what JHalf and DC consider "huge" may be drastically different. But he wasn't replaced; to my eyes, that translates to "take the smoking, it was worth it." Hell, assuming a smoking even happened, whoever administered it was probably laughing right along.
My assumption was he got a, "That was hilarious. Don't let it happen again."
