So right now we have
Backcourt: Cattoor, Maddox, Pedulla, Rice, Collins
Frontcourt: N'Guessan, Kidd, Wessler, Buchanan(?), still a possibility of Mutts and/or Aluma
Gonna need a couple good grad transfers IMO. Unless somehow Mutts and Aluma both return. But even then, an extra guard wouldn't hurt.
My guess is CMY went up to him and said it was in his best interest to transfer because of some other factor we haven't seen yet. Either another commitment, transfer coming in, and/or Aluma or Mutts possibly coming back... I will say with Mutts/Aluma, CMY probably needs to hear sooner rather than later with them coming back since he needs to know if he needs to hit transfer portal to fill their spots... There is some serious talent in the portal
100% this seems like roster re-shaping.
Big John has crazy potential, but he might be a Johnny Hamilton type who needs to go low major to get his game together. I was really hoping for a step forward this year leading to a starting spot next season, but it never materialized.
really hope his back issues get worked out, wish him the best of luck and hope he has great success the rest of his career
This one doesn't surprise me at all. When Haynes entered the portal, most every insidery type person said to expect another transfer to come and I figured for sure it would be him. But combined with Alleyne on the same day and I'd think this most likely points to multiple people (another recruit, transfers) coming in and they are making scholly room, especially so if Mutts/Aluma come back in late May before the NBA draft deadline.
Figured it was a matter of time with Alleyne, wish them both luck wherever they land!
The very worst part of the numbers always working out.
Best of luck, young man. Thank your for your time and effort here.
It's a bummer, especially considering Mutts and Aluma might not return next year. I was hoping this would be a breakout year for him and he'd be able to get solid backup minutes, but I guess the production just wasn't there yet. All the best in his new adventure!
