It looks like Gosnell's knee is doing ok

Doing flips for a photo op coming off ACL repair seems a bit aggressive, but I am not an orthopedic specialist.

In related news, I wonder if he sticks with TE, or do the staff see his upside at the WILL spot on defense and look at him there. As I have noted in my previews, the WILL/boundary linebacker is the most critical position on the defense, requiring a unique blend of length, speed, and a heavy shoulder at the point of attack. Pry's NFL guys tend to come from that position (Brandon Smith, Micah Parsons, etc.)

Practice starts tomorrow.

Dude if we can turn him into another Micah Parsons I would take that ALL DAY.

Will be interesting to see how it plays out, and if he would even be open to that move.

A player with a similar athletic/skill profile recently did the opposite of what it appears Benji is doing.

5* ATH Drew Sanders was thought of as a potentially elite TE prospect coming out of high school, but was fully committed to playing OLB/EDGE at the next level because of the position's importance in the modern game and probably potential future earnings. Drew was a higher level prospect coming out of high school and started several games for Bama last year before losing his spot to true freshman freak Dallas Turner, who is a more true edge player. He will likely be starting for Arkansas this upcoming season as a LB.

All that to say, if the staff thinks his best future is at WILL then it shouldn't be too difficult to pitch him on that for some of the reasons that led Sanders down the same path.

I read an article about comparing guys to the average speed for their position and what they found was that speed mattered for two* positions, LB and TE. At every other position there were a ton of pro bowlers and starters to pick from. A lot of times TEs share a similar body to LBs or edge rushers, so I wonder if TE actually requires speed, or just all the slightly slow TEs became Edge rushers (average NFL TE is .06s faster than DE and .01s slower than a LB) because it pays more.

* Safety would be a 3rd position needing speed as all the safeties list were in the box guys, but you don't have to be faster to be a safety, you just need 1 fast safety on your team. Many of the talentef slow DEs would be over .1 slower 40 time than the slow TEs that were servicable.

I played with a guy in high school who played linebacker and TE he was 2A all state, I watched him battle the Kloosterman kid from JMU for 4 years and win. He was the slowest tight end in history but at backer he could play faster. I think at backer you can slow down a hair and play more at a reaction speed or at edge rusher your speed is hidden because of going against O-line.

He said give to me Roscoe

I think in high school things are way different than the NFL though. We had some slow guys on our team but they were just way more physical and could bully people.

He was the slowest tight end in history

Negative Bob Slowikowski was the slowest tight end in history

But a really nice guy. He was at Tech same time I was.

I thought you were gonna say "front flips"

Ahh to be 18 years old again lol. I like the idea of him possibly playing linebacker. Unfortunately we all know that highly-rated TEs only go on to play QB if they switch positions at VT.

Backflips? Meh. Just don't let him play basketball.

If I win a Mega Millions jackpot, that basketball court is being razed & replaced with pillowed rooms, and ankle braces are going to be fitted on every athlete during the off-season like house arrest anklets.

He still looks like a boy. Imagine what he is going to look like when he fills out. Monster.
