In my defense, it'll be VERY easy for you TKP'ers at the tailgate to identify me. And yes, I hold a degree from ODU. But everyone knows undergrad loyalties far outclass graduate ones

this is true. I should be excited for Lincoln Riley, Caleb Williams and Jordan Addinson, but I'm all in on Pry and Wells. Grad school be damned, my formative years were my undergrad years.
I still cheer on the Trojans, but if both games are on the same time, I'm watching VT on the TV and SC on the phone.

Against Tech?? Never in a thousand million years. I was throwing shit following the 2018 debacle. I want us to come out rolling and cruise to an easy W

I'll be around. Probably heading to hang with friends in Larchmont after work Friday before walking over to the game. Can you share info on the tailgate?
I have a grad degree from ODU too, but don't own any ODU gear. I did almost grab tickets in their alumni section though.

thanks for sharing, just registered to attend with a friend. you'll know it's me because i'll have on a TKP Trucker hat and a t shirt that literally says GOBBLE GOBBLE

The outcome wasn't what we wanted, but a couple of TKP'ers got introduced, my bro was excited about the surprise tickets to the game, and I'm not gonna lie I had a ton of fun bantering with the ODU fans. At the end of the day I think these are the things college football is all about.
Looking forward to meeting up with you and more users on this site in the future 😁🦃

I want to see tech run the ball down their throats the whole game. I want Rudolph's line to show who is boss, and set the tone for the whole season. If we cant run at will, I am going to scared for our entire season.

For you younger blokes, dizzy bat is a required game for any beer olympics. They did it right and looks like they had to drink the beer from the bat then hit the empty can. Perfect.

eh? 5th? Blue is WR4 based on Smith, Gosnell and Lofton being the 3 starters.
The interesting thing to me is the walk-on being listed as the backup for both outside receiver positions and Jones, Moss, etc are nowhere to be found in the 2-deep

Observations: 2 True Frosh in the OL 2-deep- not good Bob... a walk on WR in the 2 deep- yikes as well. And Tajh Bullock will have to switch positions or transfer. And lets hope Thomas's injury is not a year long linger thing

Virginia Tech coach Brent Pry: Says coaching staff was more comfortable with Devin Farrell running the offense at this point over Tahj Bullock, Pry said things just come easier for Farrell— michaelniziolek (@michaelniziolek) August 30, 2022

Fwiw, Chris Coleman at TSL has pointed out how little game experience Bullock actually has - split a year in high school with another QB, then had Covid hit and only played like 6 games one season.
DF was like a 3 year starter with multiple playoff wins.

The Moore one is yikes but they've been talking up Chaplin all camp so I'm not *that* concerned about him (I am still a little concerned overall though)

Have heard some chatter from the TSL folks that they expect Moore to start eventually this year. He has been doing well at the LG spot. Chaplin is extremely talented but a true freshman at LT is always worrisome.

The younger Moore had better HS film than the SR Moore. Playing DT this spring was such a waste. Whoever learns to play fast and stay engaged on blocks between Moore and Hanson will play.

Keep Jennings in front of you, get off the field on third and long. Hat on a hat on offense and keep the feet moving. Maybe Grant Wells best moment of last season came leading Marshall to a game tying TD with just over a minute left against ODU, and then winning the game with a beautiful corner route throw in OT. Bad news is he struggled up to that point.
These staff have intimate knowledge of each other's game plan. VT should have the horses to win. But it can get real mucked up real quick with all the depth issues at VT.

Anybody been to an ODU game? I know they have clear bag policy, but wondering if they make you take stuff out of your pockets/go through metal detectors. I know they sell beer now, but I'd rather just do flask or airplane bottles if I can get away with it

Stadium has been redone since that game, I have never had to empty pockets or anything but I've never taken a bag to a game. Bathrooms and concessions are much improved and it looks like beer is for sale in stadium starting this fall.

oh baby
The road to 15-0 starts now! #Wells4Heisman
I had a dream last night
1Q: 21-0
2Q: 49-6
3Q: 56-13
4Q: 66-13
I think that is technically called a nocturnal emission.

So, 192-32 final score.
Against ODU? Not enough offense
Or defense.
Anyone going to the VT tailgate at Koffman?? I'll be wearing an ODU alumni hat with my VT jersey (I know I know!!)
I have legged every reply in this thread, including this one, but this....
😂😂
In my defense, it'll be VERY easy for you TKP'ers at the tailgate to identify me. And yes, I hold a degree from ODU. But everyone knows undergrad loyalties far outclass graduate ones
Some things aren't made to be mixed.
Like loyalties.
my grad loyalties far outweigh my undergrad ones
Edit to my comment above:
We all know that our VT loyalties far outweigh any other school we may have attended.
Some things are understood.

hats are easier to remove than jersies
Tell that to LL!!!
I will be there.
You'll know how to identify me! Lol. As long as I've been on this site I have never met anyone here in person. That needs to change.
Because we are so hard to find. ...what with the top secret tailgate location and all.

Awesome!! I can't wait to finally meet some fellow TKP'ers
nice to finally have met a TKPer! 🦃 If only the game outcome had matched
Completely agree!

I want to see us run the ball down their throats and then have Cole Beck race down the sideline for a deep bomb.
I think I've seen that before.
Oh, yeah:
Over/Under meltdowns on TKP gameday boards this year...

FORGET EVERYTHING I SAID BEFORE WE'RE GOING 25-0 THIS BEARD
You beautiful bearded bitch, you!
Looking forward to servicing yall for season 11. It will be nice to have something concrete to look at, rather than grasping at straws.
No depth chart as of yet. I assume that will come out tomorrow.

edit: drinking

Um, it's a bit light this year so we're just going to release starters and then have a lottery for who goes in next.
Oh wow. Blue like WR5 and Bullock not a Top 3 QB is interesting.
Blue may still be playing catch up because of his injury or it may be lingering and he's being given another week before getting more pt
eh? 5th? Blue is WR4 based on Smith, Gosnell and Lofton being the 3 starters.

Wow, Farrell 3rd string as predicted from practice videos.
Very surprised Gosnell is starting, and walk on Kakvistas is ahead of Jaylen Jones and Christian Moss.
Also Burgos, Moyston and McDonald have passed McCray, Carrol and Eli Adams, that is very surprising.
Big takeaways: receiver depth is scary, OL needs to stay healthy, and younger guys are putting in work at other positions
I heard on a podcast or something that McCray is dealing with an injury
Yeah beat reporters are saying he's hurt
Observations: 2 True Frosh in the OL 2-deep- not good Bob... a walk on WR in the 2 deep- yikes as well. And Tajh Bullock will have to switch positions or transfer. And lets hope Thomas's injury is not a year long linger thing
oof.
Yeah, sounds like it will be the portal for Bullock. Sucks, but I would expect it soon.
Fwiw, Chris Coleman at TSL has pointed out how little game experience Bullock actually has - split a year in high school with another QB, then had Covid hit and only played like 6 games one season.
DF was like a 3 year starter with multiple playoff wins.
Farrell looked much better than Bullock in the spring game, so can't say I'm that surprised
The Moore one is yikes but they've been talking up Chaplin all camp so I'm not *that* concerned about him (I am still a little concerned overall though)

May not be great omens for this year, but it bodes well for the next couple years
The younger Moore had better HS film than the SR Moore. Playing DT this spring was such a waste. Whoever learns to play fast and stay engaged on blocks between Moore and Hanson will play.
Yea but Kakavitsas seems like a real Willie Byrn/CJ Carroll type so it's nice to have another sneaky athletic guy out there.
Let's Go!!!

Went last time. Tried to erase every aspect from my memory. Then it was port o johns and like 2 food trucks. No beer.

Technically, the best kind of redundancy.
