The article has no numbers as to what kind of terms the Big12 expects, but I would guess their position at the negotiating table is rather weak without Texas and OU.

I watched the re-run of that unbearable "U" 30 for 30...Imagine the ACC now if Clemson was Clemson, and FSU, VT, Miami were all in the top 15 like they were in the early 2000's. This would be a moot point

I think that, when the dust settles, by 2036, what is now the B12 will be one of the three remaining conferences, mostly because it's the only one that won't get pillaged (any more than it already has).
Definitely going to be interesting to see how the B12 negotiations go.

I could see the Big12 becoming a catch-all, third P5 super-conference after the quality teams from the ACC and P12 are poached by the B1G and $EC. Thinking of the Arizona teams, Colorado, Utah, OSU, WSU and Cal out west plus Louisville, Pitt, GaTech, Wake and Duke from the ACC, and potentially others.
The Big12 could really cherrypick the most appealing teams from the leftovers to form a 20, 24 or even 28 team superconference and see what kind of deal they could get by their enormous media footprint. With that many teams, they would have to command some level of relative parity, certainly better than the ACC's crap deal.

Interesting BR article. Sounds as if UT and OU are in negotiations to leave for SEC sooner. OU AD says, "There's a lot changing around us. If that facilitates a conversation that needs to take place about an earlier departure, then it does." Very interesting and could signify SEC is ready to make other moves or more Big Ten expansion is coming soon.
I think the B12 said there would be a 80 million leave early fee hoping to scare them off an early bail, but Texas asked would they take a credit card they wanted the points or would just a check do.

Clicking through the various links in that article, no one ever mentions the Grant of Rights, which is what's believed to have established the 2025 date.....but it's hinted that the early negotiation of the new media deal could open the door for Texas and Oklahoma to leave prior to that.

I know two things
1) This will be better money per school that the current ACC deal
2) The new deal will expire before the current ACC deal

Don't forget the obligatory Fuck Pat Narduzzi as well.
Simple solution: Steal Okie and Texas Tech, then maybe TCU and WVU too
