Men showing what it takes to have a great season. Win on the road when the refs favor the other teams style. Could only watch half the ladies, but the margin reflected the talent difference.

I feel like our wins personify being with family around the holidays. Always nice to get the FAM together, but sometimes you need to step away for a drink.

OSU went to a muck-it-up style and it took VT over 10 mins to adjust, but finished strong. 19 for 24 FTs and OSU's turnovers late were huge for pulling out that win.

I was here laughing as it's the first time in a very long time I heard my wife cursing like a sailor.
Her expectations have been set high.
I think I may have to get some insurance that covers damage from rabidfan.

Remarkably we were even with them on Offensive Rebounds and only gave up 1 more defensive rebound. We also protected the ball reasonably well given how sloppy the game was.

Didn't catch the first half of the men's game and tuned in at halftime. As soon as OSU got hot, I did my duty and turned the game off. I may not be superstitious, but I am a little stitious.

At the start of the second half I was thinking UNLEASH POTEAT! So glad to have a physical presence like him on this team and the dude makes tough guy free throws, hell of a transfer portal pull by CMY.

Mylyjael has low-key turned into one of my favorite players on this team. He provides quality minutes, actively seeks out contact (and yeah sometimes eats a lot of fouls because of that), and nails his clutch free throws.

I agree with this. I love his play. I remember earlier in the year, he went to the line late in the game (maybe against PSU) and I thought, "can he make FTs," and he sank them both. He is a very physical presence, that, if he can stay out of foul trouble (or use his fouls wisely) can combat some of other teams physicality.

People are asking if Virginia Tech should be a top 5 team
Greenburg said on the broadcast at halftime that he thought the two best teams in the ACC were VT and UVA.
GreenburgI said,on the broadcastto myself, at halftime thathe thoughtthetwobest teamsin the ACCwereis VTand UVA.IsareEdit: I made it plural not to include UVA, but to cover both VT basketball teams.
Men's team got punched right in the mouth to start the second half and responded nicely....FAM to that and FAM to hopefully being ranked tomorrow!
Going to do a post later tonight on how the back half of the Top 25 did this week to give everyone an idea of what to expect tomorrow.
FAM
you can say that again
FAM
I am glad the men's team kept their cool, because I sure as hell didn't. Solid W
I have a friend who came over to watch the college of Charleston game and then dropped by at the start of the second half of this game.
I made him leave. You're welcome.
Thank you!
you mean you HAD a friend
We're still friends, he just can't come to my house during Tech games anymore.

This is a game we lose last year; glad we pulled it out despite the refs doing everything they could to make it a comeback for OSU
Honestly felt a LOT like our game against TX in the tourney where we were just outmuscled, except this time we held on and pushed through it.
Not the best time to mention out-muscling to the UT basketball team.....
Got a little worried when the game went to straight fast place slop. Our guys never looked panicked though. That was a big feeling win.

You should watch me watching sports then. I am worse than a sailor. Talk to HokieEnginerd about damage from rabidfan....
If you suffer from rabidfandom, you better not have cut-rate insurance.
Fam! Pulling out a game when faced with adversity is kinda new.
We cut down on our turnovers late. Only 10 for the game. Which is good.
And we made our FT's. 19-24, 79.2%, which is very good.
Beating a team that plays big, physical defense FAM!
I was sitting on the other side of the room and HokieEnginerd was scrolling through this thread. I saw this post and knew immediately that it was you.

And we are doing this without Rodney Rice
And John Camden
Savage
More steals than turnovers FAM
Twice the FAM Twice the fun. Great wins for both teams to get to double digit wins.
#9 Wrestling upsets #7 Mizzou. What a day for the Hokies.

The Barclay's Center might as well be called Cassell North right now.
Paging the hokies that got Google to put lane north on the map of Charlottesville...
Oh yeah, that's the stuff.
GO HOKIES!
