WBB host #11 GA Tech FEb 10 at 8 PM

The Lady Hokies host #11 GA Tech tonight at 8 PM. The game is on Regional Sports Networks. The Hokies, GA Tech and Notre Dame are all 9-3 and tied for third in the ACC. GA Tech has lost to Louisville, Miami and NC State. The Hokies lost to Notre Dame, NC State and UNC.

GA Tech is a defensive team only allowing 47.7 points per game. And they have a big to match up with Kitley in 6'5 Junior Nerea Hermosa. They also have 6'4 5th year forward Lorela Cubaj. GA Tech may be a team that can guard Kitley one on one.

Loyal McQueen, who started the first 3 games of the season has since transferred to Alabama.

GA Tech holds opponents to 47.7 ppg on 26.1% from three and 33.3% overall. They only score 61.2 ppg but they have four starters scoring in double figures and Strautmane coming in at 8.2 ppg. Hermosa, Cubaj and Lahtinen average over 30 minutes per game. The other two starters average 26 and 29 min per game. Their primary subs are all guards; so when Hermosa or Cubaj comes out, they get a lot smaller.

This will be a hard fought contest.

Let's hope the Cassell is full of enthusiastic fans tonight to give our ladies a lot of support. The schedule is really challenging for the rest of the season.
