After a 5-0 weekend with wins over then 11th Mizzou 19th Kentucky and receiving votes Northwestern and 2 wins over quality opponents in Wisconsin and Michigan state hokies has jumped up to number 8 in the country headed into the Easton bama bash. Hokies will play host #2 Alabama twice and Evansville twice with a single MTSU game this weekend. Another weekend for the softball team to make some big noise this weekend. Even a split against bama and win the games we should probably moves us even further up the poll next week. Its excited times for this softball team!

Another donation thing you can consider is on tsl. The head softball writer VTChip is doing a couple different donation options this year but he takes it straight to the softball team so if you want to directly give money to the softball team.
Why give money to TSL to donate? Instead go directly to the Hokie Club and donate to the softball team fund and the scholarship fund.

It's not a donation to TSL, he's just a hard core softball guy over there who covers it and helps support the team. He raised over $40,000 I think last year? My assumption is that raising a large amount in mass then can be given as a lump contribution to fund particular priorities, rather than everyone just giving $25 to the HC that then goes to their general fund. Others can probably correct me if I'm wrong
The Hokie club allows you to donate directly to any team you want. What TSL does is lump these donations to them together and give them in their name. You can look at giving numbers for Hokie ambassadors and reps and multiple TSL folks are always in the top 10. So just like when you give X dollars to your grocery store who then turn around and give it to a charity it's given in that stores name not your own win. A better solution is to join the Hokie Club yourself and donate directly and get the benefits yourself.
Chip, not TSL, is organizing a fundraiser for Hokie Softball fans.
There's quite a bit of overlap with Hokie Club members and Hokie Softball fans/donors... but the goal there is for softball fans to do something more dynamic to support the team than "oh here's $100 for softball" ..not to add to the Hokie Club membership roster.
See this link for details on his Ten for the Win Challenge. Basic idea is pledge to donate X per win, tracked by Chip. If this fundraiser meets or exceeds a total $7500 for the season ($175 - $200 total per win), there's a donor willing to double the total donation. So if you want to boost your support Hokie Softball this kind of bonus effect won't be available for a regular donation to the Hokie Club.

It's important to note that donating via an Giving Day Ambassador's link (e.g. Will Stewart / TSL) *still makes you a Hokie Club Member if you are not one already* the Ambassadors can get some perks for bringing in donations but it does not take away from the benefits for the individual donor
Also note that there is a bonus effect on Giving Day as well (but only during the giving day time period next week) - someone has pledged to give a $3000 bonus donation to the sports with the most donations on Giving Day.

Watched the first three before having to make dinner. Looked like Keeley was struggling with the cold/thick clothes more than Bama. I think she needs to lose the long sleeves and get a pitchers jacket for the dug out. Went to see the end after dinner and found wrasslin instead. Take it we could not overcome. What was the final?

Great experience for the team this early in the season to get at bats against elite pitching. This game shows we can hang/beat the best teams in the country so we have a legitimate shot to play for the NC if we can continue to improve throughout the year.
