WBB vs Boston College Feb 6 at 2 PM

The Ladies host BC today at 2 PM. Hokie Sports says the game is on Regional Sports Networks; but Watch ESPN says it's ACCN Extra. BC is 15-7, 6-5 in conference. 11-2 at home and 4-5 on the road. Their ACC losses are to Louisville twice, UNC, ND and Ga Tech. They beat Syracuse, Clemson, ND, Miami and LOLUVA. In their last game, they came back from down 9 at the half to outscore LOLUVA 24-7 in the third quarter and go on to win 65-57.

BC's tallest player is 6'3,Maria Gakdeng; so if Kitley is healthy, she should be able to get her double-double. However Gakdeng had a great game against LOLUVA with 8 points, 16 rebounds and 5 blocks. Of the starters, three average double digit scoring and the other two come in at 8.9 and 9 ppg.

BC leads the ACC in 3 pt defense allowing 27.9% from three; the Hokies average an ACC 2nd best 7.9 threes per game(and 8.6 threes per game in all games). Strength against strength may decide this game. VT is allowing 54.9 ppg; BC is scoring 72.7 ppg. The Hokies average 68.6 ppg. BC allows 65.6 ppg.

BC commits 19 TO's per game and causes 18.9. If the Hokies can take care of the ball and keep the TO's down, that will give them a big advantage. VT is 1-5 when committing 14 or more TO's. BC got 19 offensive rebounds in their last game against LOLUVA. We will not do well if we allow BC that many second chance opportunities.

BC shot 28 FT's against LOLUVA. We need to be better at defending without fouling.

Detailed Stats:

This would be a good time for Sheppard to find the game she had last year. I don't know what's wrong with her; but she definitely has not been the player we expected this year. It will be interesting to see if BC can defend the arc and defend Kitley. If Kitley is healthy, I don't see how they can do both.

The Ladies should win this one.

LET'S GO HOKIES!

F#&9$8@6 blacked out here. Waiting for the replay to watch, but checked the score from here at the brewery, and looked we are good shape in the third.

Sometimes we live no particular way but our own

Blacked out here too. Listened on the radio. Good game for the ladies. Good news is Kitley seems to be healthy again: 29 points, 15 rebounds. At the end of the game 3 BC starters had 4 fouls and one had fouled out.

Doesn't matter if it's cake or pie as long as it's chocolate.

Tough February stretch coming for the Ladies.

Wet stuff on the red stuff.

On paper and through the first quarter this looked like a tougher game then it was.
