From what I can tell it seems like:
Jones/Mines: 757/Va beach area
Quinn/Prioleau: Northern Virginia east of 29
Marve: Northern valley/ Winchester west of 29
Glenn: Georgia as of right now
That's 6 of 10 any idea on where some of the other coaches are covering?

Who has Texas?
C'mon, low hanging fruit. I imagine it's/s but still
yeah it was a joke
Yeah my bad, I figured that out too long after I hit post. No worries.
Cheers π»
Price may have VA area as well based on the picture with him, Pry, Jones, Mines, Quinn, and Prioleau that said taking back our state. Maybe Bowen has Pennsylvania since he came from Penn State or Florida since he was in Jacksonville, Stu Holt could have Kentucky/Tennessee/Ohio area being he came from Louisville. I imagine the O-line coach could have some of the western/northern states too. Pry probably just goes everywhere being that he is the head coach. This is all a guess because I have no clue and no twitter to track them haha
Looks like J.C. at least has the Richmond area as one of his territories - LC Bird is in Chesterfield and has produced a number of P5 players (including some Hokies) in recent years:
Looks like Fontel Mines also has the Richmond area:
Mines went to Hermitage so I would expect him to cover RVA.
Usually each coach will have an in-state territory and an out of state territory. They'll split up VA between the staff, then split up the rest of the country. Kinda doing double duty.
When you say "usually", you must be referring to the usually that was prior to the past 6 years.
I think there will be significant PA coverage based on comments. Maybe Bowen?
I'm somewhat surprised Quinn didn't have something further south. Or maybe all the coaches will have some part of VA and secondary locations in neighboring states, like the 757 area guys get eastern NC or something like that.
Is this the type of thing we have to piece together through tweets and who recruiters are for kids based on the kids' locations?
I haven't really seen anything official on it yet I'm just going off schools visited on twitter and who the coaches tag themselves with. Like marve was at handley and millbrook so I assume he'll get sherando too, while Quinn was at Loudoun valley, fauquier, and Loudoun county high. There just seems to be a pattern as of the first week in the state. I just haven't seen anything for Roudolf, Bowen, or price as of a pattern
Sherando Confirmed
God this was painful. You mention Handley, Sherando, and Millbrook, but not my high school, James Wood. That tells you how bad they are and how long it's been since it produced any talent, if ever...
I'm still waiting for which coach has Luray and Page
It's ok I went to central we've had one player in the last 50 years play D1 at William & Mary.
Central is a basketball school, you guys had Walker Lambiotte and Jason Sager
Edit: not to mention MMA has put a couple guys in the NBA in the last decade
Agreed. I went to elementary school in Woodstock and had I stayed and went to Central I'd have been the 3rd or 4th tallest player my senior year. And I'm 6'-8". Couple of the kids I went to school with back then really sprouted up. I think too they had a decent coach. Was it Walters back in the day? I don't remember what sport he coached. I just know his wife was my 3rd grade teacher and she was strict as hell. She had an apple on the first day of school, which unbeknownst to the class had been presliced almost in half, and she told us what would happen if we misbehaved as she calmly twisted the apple in half with her bare hands. As an 8 year old it was impressive.
Yep coach Walters! His son was my 9th grade history teacher and his wife was my reading specialist in 3rd grade haha
I thought James Wood got renamed to Adam West High School? Or at least it did in Family Guy.
I think Maryland is probably a good bet to be in Bowen's territory too - it's his home state, he played at UMD, and Pry mentioned in one of his pressers that Bowen was one of Penn State's ace recruiters in the DMV.
I would guess PA recruiting is largely going to be handled by Pry, Bowen and Rudolph given their past jobs at PSU & Pitt.
I can't remember which outlet (maybe TSL) mentioned it, but they were told that once the staff gets through January and making the recruiting rounds, that there was going to be media availability to the coaching staff. Hopefully we can get some answers on that kind of stuff.
To follow up on this, some of the 247 board members Twitter sleuthing unearthed that Bowen started following a bunch of prospects in the DMV from the WCAC schools, so he's definitely got the DMV as one of his recruiting areas.
Who has the UK? Coach said nothing across the Mississippi, he aint say anything about the Atlantic... /s
It is just a pond, not a mighty river so it should be fair game.
Looks like we have an answer on Richmond!
Aren't Mines and Cheetah the offensive and defensive recruiting coordinators? I'm wondering if the three of them are hitting a bunch of the big regions of VA separately from position coaches who already hit their specific regions.
Astute observation on that. The two recruiting coordinators and the Head Man making their rounds!
If Marve is truly our "weakest" recruiter, him getting west of 29 makes sense.
I would assume he would be the 2nd guy a lot for defensive recruits so having him in a less talented area makes sense for when he's brought in for the double team
I'm kind of interested in who is recruiting around SW VA. There's been quite a bit of talent lately.
Reading between the lines of some of the things said on signing day, it seems like JC & Prioleau are the ones likely to be handling that area. It helps that Prioleau was on staff at Radford HS for a while, so he likely has solid relationships with the coaches in the area.
I think I saw a post about someone being at George Wythe, in Wytheville. Maybe was holt? Can't quite remember.
Rudolph hitting up EC Glass
EC Glass that's a name I haven't heard in a long long time!
Also hit up Brookville
I'm bad at the Twitter. Did anyway catch a tweet from Jefferson Forest High? I'm curious if the Jake Grove Mural still exists.
Nothing yet
This is a great thread for those of us who don't follow the coaches on Twitter. Thanks for all the updates.
I agree, top notch coverage that the newspapers won't show!
Pry- The whole joint - PA, DMV
Price - South 804 (Chesterfield-Tri Cities) / WV, FL
Marve - 81N (Staunton-Winchester) / TN, FL
Quinn - NOVA (Loudoun/Fairfax) / GA, SC
Cheetah - North 757 (Williamsburg-Peninsula) / NC, SC
PP - 81S-77 (NRV-Roanoke-Martinsville) / NC
Bowen - NOVA (Prince William-Stafford-FBurg) / MD, PA, FL
Rudolph - 29S (Lynchburg-Danville) /PA, OH
Holt - SWVA (Wytheville-Bluefield-Coalfields-Bristol) / KY, TN, OH
Mines - North 804 (Henrico, Hanover), South 757 (Cheese, Nawfuck, Beach) / NC
Glenn - 29N (Cville-Leesburg) / GA, SC
Split the 3 metro areas in VA with 2 coaches each. This listing is a combo of verified twitters accounts and some guesswork based on the staffs prior stops and birthplaces. Hopefully Pry can be the finisher we've lacked with the big time VA prospects.
How unofficially official is this?
via GIPHY
I appreciate the detail.
Do you know if the states where more than one coach is listed, do they also divide that into regions to allow the coaches to spend more time with fewer schools?
Yes. IE, Within NC, I'm expecting Cheetah to have the Triangle and some Charlotte, Pierson in the Triad & Mountains, Mines down the coast (Elizabeth City-Rocky Mount-New Bern-Fayetteville-Wilimington).
I'd actually expect Brad Glenn to be more likely to have NC in his territory than Pierson.
Glenn coached in the state (at App St. & Western Carolina) from 2005-2018.
I stand corrected. This would make complete since to have Glenn in NC, especially west of 77.
Mines - North 804 (Henrico, Hanover), South 757 (Cheese, Nawfuck, Beach) / NC
I love it......Nawfuck, Portsmuff, Suffuck.........
The big dogs visiting Trinity Episcopal and getting a shoutout from another former Hoo in Wali Rainer
He has two sons that can play! Both on the stubby side if you are into measureables but I'd offer them both purely off genetics, they both have good football instincts IMO.
'23 Elijah Rainer (6'1 210 LB)
'24 Zahir Rainer (5'11 175 S)
Looks like the staff agrees, and appears to be mending at least one other damaged relationship
I think the posts and pictures with hokie fans or alums at each school are a nice touch for sure.
It's a very nice, and easy, PR win, but also it goes to building those additional relationships beyond just the player and coaches as Pry has mentioned is a priority. Although it looks like Quinn's mask is upside down in this picture.
Looks like we had Jones, Quinn, Mines, and Pry all at Hermitage.
Also JC was tagged with Pry, Mines, and Jones at Trinity Episcopal.
Whole crew is at Manchester
Looks like they got an offer in on this visit
Looks like the week is a wrap!

High praise for the staff here
As a fellow 6-7 guy, this is 90% of the pictures I take with friends in a nutshell.
I have a friend named Peter who is 6'6"
we call him "Two Meter Peter"
Many years ago, I had a manager named Richard Wadd. I'll give you one guess what everybody called him. Very unfortunate since he was one of the nicest people I've ever worked for.
that's too bad...
Damn, its a shame you cant rename your parents after that gift
Oh I'm sure he had his own names for his parents.
I was hoping that Jones would be the Charlotte recruiter. Has a good reputation in that area
This one is obviously not official......but thought it was funny
Somebody stop coach Quinn from doing the "This guy" point. It's all I can see now!
I really appreciate what these coaches are doing and getting the message out. However, for some reason, the finger point has always bugged me. To me, it's not "look at this guy", it's really "look at me".
But, I guess that's true of almost all social media posts anyway. Old guy rant...
Someone just needs to rib him for it. When we took pictures with Aaron Rouse a few years ago, I 100% did the finger point. Later that night, my girlfriend goes "did you really do the finger point..." laced with the most judgement in her voice I have ever heard. And now I'm cured. (You reading this Coach Q?!?!)
He might be an idiot when it comes to posing for pictures, but he's our idiot when it comes to posing for pictures
It's so great seeing all this recruiting and relationship building. I can't help but feel like this is going to pay dividends in our future recruiting classes.
building relationships with youth coaches and not just high schools is phenomenal
have we ever done this before. I can't remember ever hearing about getting in good with youth coaches
No point from Coach Quinn here
Maybe the vibe of the picture was too serious. Saves the finger point for the smiley ones
I disagree. It was the former staff's recruiting relationship efforts that were pointless.
Dorman always has talent
I love how the staff is finding Hokies from around d the schools and not just coaches.
Looks like Coach Pry is in NC with Joe Rudolph and Stu Holt
Seems like he is doing road trips with the different groups of coaches to help build team chemistry
Looks like Coach Quinn is hitting up Georgia as well
Cheetah is still in the Charlotte area
