So, since my last cobia trip I have been slacking. I did manage to sell the GLF and my rod holders. I still have a GLoomis E6X Inshore 7-0 Heavy Fast (rated for 1/4-1oz) spinning rod that I am selling for $140, but it doesn't seem like there is much of a market for it. I am heading to Abingdon next week, but I am hoping to go down and fish a light easterly and try to get a bucktail cobia from one of the OBX piers later in July or in August. In terms of other fishing, it sounds like there is a real good tarpon run going on down on the Florida panhandle piers. Sheepshead are in the Chesapeake around structure. It sounds like the ridiculous tuna bite has slowed down in the OBX, but there are still really strong offshore catches. Puppy drum seems to be the most frequent photo-worthy catch in the surf, although with upwelling I am sure that can be hit or miss.
