Then and now. FEI comparison of VT Football coaches in 2021 vs today.

I was curious if any of the teams that previously employed our coaches, well... uh, actually missed them. Got bored, did some light research. One can certainly go deeper. Data mostly from here: https://www.footballoutsiders.com/

Defense

Brent Pry: 2021, PSU Defense: 2021 DFEI: 0.84 (10th) - Now, 1.11 (6th). They got better in 2022.
Chris Marve: 2021, FSU Linebackers & Run Game coordinator: 2021 DFEI: 0.22 (43th) - Now, 0.38 (36th). They got better in 2022.
JC Price: 2021, VT Defensive Ends, Interim HC, 2021 DFEI: -0.16 (72nd) - Now, -.14 (73rd). We're about the same 2022.
Derek Jones: 2021, Texas Tech Assoc Head Coach, Co-Def Coor, Secondary: 2021 DFEI: -.52 (100th) - Now, 0.62 (18th). They got better in 2022.
Pierson Prioleau: 2021, VT Director of Player Development - Defense. 2021 DFEI: -0.16 (72nd)
Shawn Quinn: 2021, Savannah State Head Coach & Defense, Can't find stats but they are (5-5 in DII now, were 8-2 last year.)

Main notes. PSU & FSU have better results in 2022 w/o Pry & Marve, respectively. VT is about the same. Texas Tech is vastly improved this year. Savannah state's overall record is worse than it was last year.

Offense

VT 2021 OFEI: -0.17 (77th)
VT 2022 OFEI: -0.76 (110th)

Tyler Bowen: 2021 NFL Jaguars. Using the free version so I cannot access those stats. Suffice to say Jags were 3-14 (.176) and are now 3-7 (.300) in 2022... but perhaps that was Urban.
Stu Holt: 2021 Louisville Special Teams & TEs, 2021 OFEI 0.67 (#28). Now .08 #62. They got worse.
Brad Glenn: 2021 Georgia State OC / QBs, 2021 OFEI -0.14 (#75). Now -46 #97. They got worse.
Joe Rudolph: 2021 Wisconsin Assoc HC, Run Game Coor, OL, 2021 OFEI 0.30 (#52). Now 0.22 #48. They're about the same.
Fontel Mines: 2021 ODU TE, 2021 OFEI -0.83 (#120). Now -0.71 #107. Better, but that was a low mark.

Looks like Louisville may miss Holt and Georgia State may miss Glenn. I'm generally surprised at how much TE experience we have on the coaching staff Mines, Bowen, Holt, and Rudolph all have experience here.

Maybe someone else can make something of this. For me all I got was that I had underestimated how good the Cardinals were on offense last year and perhaps also underestimated how well Manny Diaz plugged in for Pry at PSU this year.
