For as much success and development we've had this year, can we please recognize how consistent John Love was this year? 20-22 on FG and 39/39 on PAT. I feel like the last decade I was never very confident on us kicking a field goal, but this year it wasn't much of a worry. Even today, in horrible weather conditions, he nailed his chances. He's going to be another key piece for success next year.

Seriously, reminds me of our list of reliable kickers from the 04-08 era
Takes me back to Chris Kinzer in 1986 where he made 5-6 game winning kicks. That said..
I like it better when these kicks are the icing on the cake(or pie or ice cream) not the main course.
Amen
You LOVE to see it!
Petition to change thread title to "Lovin' on Love"
He has certainly provided key points when we've needed every one we could get.
So glad he's a RS F. Guys just straight money anything 45 and in I just count it as 3 and go grab a beer.
Mc"Love"in
i hear his younger brother is just as good, if not better. lets get him
Love that guy
Lowe too. Both have elevated the kicking game. That swive kick at halftime and recovery was executed beautifully, even if mostly insignificant in game outcome.
Special teams took a big step forward this year.
Congrats to Coach Holt and John Love.
Having a really good kicker is a huge asset.
I VERY MUCH appreciate having John Love on the team.
I'm happy to say we don't take kicking for granted
Look at the Baltimore Ravens. Probably invested more to get/keep Justin Tucker over the years, and it has paid dividends for them.
Beamerball's emphasis on special teams includes/should include someone like Love
We have an all American (2nd team) KR. We had great punt and kicker returners. Only Miami of Ohio was better at FGs with 20 or more attempts.
Our special teams were pretty darn good this year. The only part that wasn't highly rated was Punting but Moore was solid this year. We just were so so at punt coverage too so it really was the only sport we didn't excel. And I don't think anyone would have complained about our punting.
Agreed, so much better to not be sweating anything over 30 yds.
