Staying in Playa Samara for one week right on the beach, and then 3 days at an eco resort on the side of the Rincon de la Vieja Volcano. We have a car and are doing some day trips up and down the coast. The gravel and dirt roads are quite the adventure.......
The southern half of the Guanacaste Peninsula has exploded over the past 15 years. When we where there that part was pretty desolate with few hotels, resorts, etc. We had a 4 wheel drive Toyota Pathfinder and had to drive through a few small rivers.
We started trip in Jaco for a week (surfed Playa Hermosa - biggest beach break in CR, 1st day, waves were 15-20 ft; Tulin Rivermouth, Crocs in rivermouth that sometimes go out into surf, waves also 15 ft+; Esterillos Oeste, fun smaller wave - 6ft+, the Siren's statues on the reef are cool and accessible at low tide.).
After surfing huge surf at Tulin, I was walking back to truck, watched a local kid with a handline catch a really nice snook about 3 ft long. He worked his butt off catching it in the surf and his hands were bloodied (I offered to help, he wanted it alone). I'll never forget the smile on that kids face as he took that fish home for dinner.
Then we went to Puntarenas and took ferry to Playa Naranjo and drove up to Tamarindo area for about a week. Waves were smaller there, but still fun. Surfed Playa Avellenas Beach (break is at the rivermouth), caught some snook on the beach here fishing.
Also surfed Playa Negra for several days. Real great reef break. Caught it pretty good at 6ft+.
2 great trips at same areas, caught a LOT of surf, and caught a few jacks and snook in the surf. Also did a day trip to a waterfall swimming hole east of Esterillos Oeste.

Just finished watching the game because of the goddamn archaic 20th century blackout rules.
When Pedulla hit the 3 at the half buzzer we went up 44-40 but when the second half started it was 43-40. I just noticed this watching the game highlights. It was a clear 3pt so what happened?
The NCAA penalizing VT because of an SEC recruiting violation
They said that the ND scoreboard operators had the wrong score up in the stadium, and that was what their graphic was reflecting.
It was on free throws before that. Hokies only made 1-2 but scorers put up both. Still less aggregious mistake than the one today at UVA.
Mackey and Burnop were talking during the latter part of the 1st half about an additional point that was added to the VT score. They didn't know why. During half time, the point was removed. I never them provide anything else on why it was added and then deleted.

We won FAM! Unfortunately I took VT (-6) which made for a very stressful end to a game that I didn't doubt we'd win. All that to just get my bet back...
