The #11 Ladies host #19 Florida State today at 2 PM. The game is on the ACC Network. The Hokies are favored by 4 points with over/under of 142. Both teams have 9-4 records in ACC play and are currently tied for third. The winner will either be tied for third or in third alone depending on how Miami-Duke and Louisville-Clemson play out.

Kitley will be the tallest player on the court by 3 or 4 inches all night. In fact FSU is a relatively short team with two starters at 5'7 and 5'8 and a third at only 6'. However they still average 3 more rebounds per game than their opponents.

FSU is not a great shooting team from three only shooting 33% on the season; but Valenzuela is shooting 55% on 35 of 60 shots in 18 minutes per game. The Hokies will have to pay attention on the perimeter when she is playing. Ta'Niya Latson is their scoring leaser at 22.7 ppg as a freshman. At only 5'8", I hope the Hokies can keep pressure on her and limit her scoring today.
I'm running late and the game is about to start.

Another key might be fouls depending on how the clown show the ACC uses for a referee pool calls the game. Five different FSU players have fouled out of a total of 8 games this season. Three of the starters average between 2 and 3 fouls per game.
LET'S GO HOKIES!

LET'S GO...
HOKIES!
Two top 20 programs and our own conference network can't even have the play by play or color commentator in Blacksburg for the game and we get one poor camera angle. Disrespectful and embarrassing.
Hokies rolling so far, up 22 pts with about 4 mins left in the 2nd Q
Holy three pointers... Gregg just made the 11th
Kickin some top 20 ass so far.... starting to put it together it the right time.
Crazy final sequence but wish the pass had gone to king in position to shoot. Turnover was bad.
Ice cold and letting in easy buckets to start the third. Oof
Lead back to 20 nearing the end of the 3rd Q. 4 players in double figures: Soule, Kitley, Amoore, and King
Amoore taking control in the fourth: lay up, dime, deep 3 in three straight possessions. Up 21 with 3 minutes to go and cruising π¦
Solid play all around and we get a big win.
Watching the game and the attitudes , you would not have thought FSU was a top 20 team. The Hokies had it going today. Ref's went foul happy when they realized game was going to finish VERY fast if they didn't slow it down.
Weird not having a team on the bubble all season. Kinda feels like NBA ball with the girls, the reg season is just a seeding matter, real play starts in the playoffs (tourney).
There is a lot of season left. We have Duke and NC State at home in the next two games. Then we go to UNC and finally finish the season at GA Tech. Three of those games are against probable NCAA tournament teams. Our record in the last four games will have a huge impact on our seed in the tournament and whether we host some games.
Host? Is this the year the women's tourney will move to play home games for first rounds?
That is what the current bracket shows. Home games for the girls. I haven't seen an offer for the tickets yet from Tech.
Yes
It's been like that since the women's tournament started, from what I can tell from Wikipedia.
NCAA - yes, they the higher seed hosts in early rounds, not enough fans follow the teams for it to profitable to play in major venues. ACC tournament, neutral site. I am not sure which you were referring to.
